He was swearing an oath, with his own arm, that he had made the thing thick enough to hang against the earth, and he was betting the price of it on his honor. The flip is not a trick. It is a vow. In my land a smith proved his blade by cutting. Here a boy of seventeen proves his by turning it over a stranger's head and looking him in the eye while the whole line waits to see if he lied. He did not lie. He set it upright, handed it to me, and said "there you go, man," then turned to the next customer as if he had not just gambled his good name across a counter. I tipped him everything in my pocket. He tried to give it back. He said it was just a Blizzard. I told him it was not just a Blizzard. I could not explain the rest in English, and there was a line, and he was busy. So I bowed instead. He said, "You too, man." That answered nothing I had said. It answered everything I had felt.

@aswordofsoap Gotcha, Though I do doubt that it was making as much of a fuss as this. Could also be that those mechanics became expected design by more casual fg fans and now that its stripped away its causing more of an uproar? I just personally found the timing of all this really fascinating

Im ngl this whole "fighting games are too hard discourse" happened when the new fighting game didn't have any oversimplification of its mechanics or input shortcuts. Which makes me think that those additions to stuff like 2xko and sf6 did help get non FG players into those games.

@aswordofsoap the only thing I saw about that was that one tutorial video that got universally clowned. Unless im missing something Invincible Vs did not get this many people tweeting about how Fg's are too hard

@IamC4IQ I think you either have to reduce the plus 25(ish) on wallbreak or get rid of wall slump getting you an assist meter if you dont want the game to be too homogenous. But a lot of points will suffer from not getting an extra assist by their first KD(Starlord,Wolverine,Magneto)

I think with the wallbreak there is. My team (Wolverine StarLord) having the corner is good cause I can tech chase easily into meaty fire element assist. But I do agree with you for the most part. Teams will revolve around there team being assembled plus the other bonuses you get it's a no brainier to just break the wall and go for HKD Oki.

There were a few mechanics in Tokon that felt like a win more reward. -Wallbreak HKD. -Wallslump + Team mate. -Both of these give you an overheal and +1 bar to the assembly meter. -Reflect gives a deassemble. (To do this you need equal or more meter than your opponent. -lvl2 gives your character a Unquie buff (eg Starlord gets 3 ammo for his element gun Vs 1 which he would normally get) The only mechanic that helps people make a comeback is losing a round and getting a character and an extra assembly slot. Which well mostly happen on round 1 and can't happen after round 2. No comeback mechanic is fine but not sure if I like the snowball reward of winning having so many benefits.

@rjtriedtotweet @Vampyrgaming example: Back in eb02 if you triggered liberation from life and used its effect to negate a characters effects this card would lose rush because its a condition that is continuously applied to it where as a deck like B yamato it is given once the condition is met and then kept.

@rjtriedtotweet @Vampyrgaming Correct me if im wrong but because this luffy is a blanket effect and Yamato has to meet a condition to give a character rush they behave in different ways when the effect is negated and how that interacts with the cards

I just dont like this angle of defense beacuse it gives too much agency to 1 tierlist as well as not taking into account the enviroment in which that deck is good/bad in
