What Exactly Is Femi Otedola's Crime?
It was impossible not to see the backlash from some Nigerians to Mr Femi Otedola's short holiday video, which trended on social media today. One would have thought that Mr Otedola was spending public money on his vacation.
But no! The man is spending very private funds.
Femi Otedola is not the reason Nigeria has challenges, and it is an intellectually lazy thought process to attack him for enjoying a leisurely bike ride in Singapore. People like Mr Otedola are the solution to our challenges, not the cause of any alleged system failures in Nigeria.
To the best of my knowledge, he played little or no role in the last election. And even if he did, what is wrong with that? But he didn't!
Otedola starts companies with capital largely sourced from outside Nigeria, grows those firms, employs tens of thousands of Nigerian citizens, and provides economic relief to millions by supplying goods and services that would have otherwise been imported. That is now a bad thing?
Do you know how difficult it is to invest in the Nigerian power sector? He did it.
I really don't get the angst directed at him!
He is not corrupt. He has exposed public corruption in the past (Farouk and his dollars). Neither is he a politician nor a government official. He is a private citizen who has committed more than $50 million of his own funds to corporate social responsibility and charitable activities outside his geopolitical zone, especially in the Northeast.
He has built university hostels, hospitals, and shelters for IDPs. Someone like him should be receiving the highest national honours, rather than being subjected to irrational horror!
What exactly is his crime?
Too many Nigerians are angry and do not know where to direct their anger.
As bad as some of us think our government is, governance is not the cause of our major problems.
I will give an example. Last year, our economy grew by 3.9%, which is good. It was one of the fastest economic growth rates on the planet, and the World Bank projects a 4.4% GDP growth for Nigeria in 2026, while the IMF listed Nigeria as the sixth-largest contributor to global GDP growth in 2025, a fact celebrated by Elon Musk, the world's richest man.
But the issue here is that our population growth, especially in one or two regions, is almost 4%.
Even if you have the best and least corrupt government on Earth, as long as the population growth of parts of Nigeria continues to outpace GDP growth, there will be social and economic pressure in those regions.
This is an economic fact!
Our country needs benevolent industrialists like Femi Otedola and Aliko Dangote. Attacking and demoralising them helps nobody.
If you are unemployed or underemployed and cannot feed your six children, Femi Otedola probably is not the reason for your suffering. Neither is the Federal Government.
You might want to take some personal responsibility for putting the cart before the horse and building your family before you have a steady, reliable salary or source of income.
In the last two years, our GDP has expanded by $67 billion, rising from ₦269.29 trillion on May 29, 2023, when Asiwaju became President, to ₦372.8 trillion today. Nigeria has had an unprecedented twelve cycles of GDP growth and trade surpluses. It has never happened before.
We have moved from being the largest importer of fuel in Africa to the number one exporter in West Africa. But this growth will only benefit you if you have a productive mindset. But if you want to sit down and expect President Tinubu to build your toilet for you and flush it when you finish your business, you will continue to suffer while the larger economy grows.

Simi was told that it was wrong to sexuaIize the innocent 4year old child named David, and here was her response far back as 2012. She was at least 23 here.

This is total damage control Simi @SympLySimi and you should be ashamed of yourself. A sincere apology from you instead of all this excuses you wrote here would have helped this situation a little but no, your arrogance comes first to you. You can never water down how cringing those tweets you made about those kids were. A 23 years old should know better and I put it to you that you knew exactly what you were doing.

Shocking Facts About Peter Obi's Potential 2027 Candidacy
Let me shock you with some hard facts. Even if Peter Obi secures the ADC nomination—which is highly unlikely—he will score fewer votes than he did in 2023 for the following reasons:
1. **Loss of Support in the Middle Belt**: Peter Obi will not get even 10% of the votes he received from the Middle Belt last time. The main reason is his alignment with Nasir El-Rufai, whom they see as their arch enemy.
2. **Erosion of Northern Christian Votes**: He will not secure 10% of the Christian votes in the North due to his associations with Nasir El-Rufai and Atiku Abubakar. Their actions (and inactions) during the Deborah saga—where a Northern Christian girl was stoned to death—left a bitter taste in the mouths of many.
3. **Diminished Support in the South East**: He will not enjoy the unanimous backing he had in the South East during the last election. This is because influential Igbo bigwigs, opinion leaders, and influencers are increasingly aligning with Tinubu.
4. **Shift in the South South**: The entire South South region has now become an APC stronghold.
5. **Loss of Confidence Among Former Supporters**: Many of us who backed him in the last election have lost faith in his ability to solve Nigeria's problems. This stems from his failure to resolve even the minor issues within the small Labour Party that he revitalized.
6. **The Hausa Voting Bloc**: The largest voting bloc in Nigeria is the Hausa people, and they are eager to break free from the hegemonic North.
To all the baby politicians and political neophytes without a shred of strategic fiber: Open your minds, digest these facts first, and let them settle in. After that, feel free to insult me with whatever language you deem fit. I have thick skin for insults and derogatory characterizations. I know what pains you the most: that your insults and derogatory statements don't move me at all.

Every time I make a post on Nigeria politics, two out of five comments from Igbo men go like this:
“See this one with fallen breasts.”
“You’re getting old.”
“Ashawo.”
“Veins dey show everywhere.”
Then you check the person’s profile picture and you’re shocked, they are grown men.
You scroll a little further and you see their wives. Their daughters. And then you wonder: how can anyone write this? Are they projecting?
The majority of the hate Peter Obi carries is not personal. It’s often his own tribesmen doing a wonderful job of demarketing him.
If the only argument you can bring is to attack how I look, then honey, you’ve already failed.
This is a 42 year-old body .
43 by November.
It is perfect.
So you see, the breasts are standing gidim after kids.
I carry beauty like water.
I’m just humble about it.
Because at the end of the day, all na vanity.
I am a walking Black goddess.
God did a thing after he gave me all this beauty..
He made me a genius.
Gave me the ability to articulate.
On top this beauty, I carry masters.I carry phd.
I get fine husband. Fine children. A community of people who love me.
Who is your mother again?
Let’s see her breasts at 43.
It's always the ones with no family pedigree or a pot to piss in.
Most of you are ridiculous.
If you don't unfollow me..you will cry
Because once you go low,
I'll go lower.
I am an mbaise woman..I have a PhD n'iko onu.
Forget class , I can go down and dirty with the worst of them .
I'll find your mother. Your daughter..Your wife. I'll put them here along with your comment so my friends can have a field day.
Don't be the reason your spouse is disrespected in this season.
Be guided.

I’m genuinely confused.
So after the inflation.
After the kidnappings.
After months of no light.
After tax and fuel hikes.
After terrible healthcare.
After salaries can’t even keep up with feeding.
Election Day comes then:
You dress up, You leave your house, You queue under the hot sun, You vote for the same person again.
You are not normal.
Tell me if I’m wrong.
