Like many Alaskans, I know the value of repairing things and keeping useful items like electronics working as long as they can.
In our state, where shipping and replacement costs are already sky high, “right to repair” is about affordability, practicality, and supporting local repair businesses when we cannot do it ourselves.
Glad to see the Alaska Senate move this forward. alaskapublic.org/news/politics/…

Today, the legislature votes on the Governor’s last group of appointments. I encourage members of the legislature to vote no on Attorney General Stephen Cox.
AG nominee Cox has deeply politicized our Department of Law, signing on to lawsuit after lawsuit tied to national political fights instead of focusing on the real legal needs of Alaskans.
The Attorney General’s job should be to protect Alaska’s interests and serve the people of this state, not spend time on partisan legal battles that do little to help the everyday challenges Alaskans face.
This is not in the best interests of Alaska or our people. alaskabeacon.com/2026/05/04/ala…

This Newsweek article highlights recent polling showing our campaign with a strong lead in the governor’s race — and that Alaska could become one of the most competitive states in the country in 2026.
This campaign has always been about the future of Alaska: lowering costs, keeping people here, and making sure Alaskans get our fair share.
There’s a lot of work ahead, but together we can build a stronger future for Alaska. newsweek.com/republicans-ch…

After losing my father at just 34, my mother raised six teenage and preteen kids with steady love, encouragement, and perseverance. She always told us to march to our own drummer, to imagine all we might do, and to never believe there were limits to our possibilities.
Even through hardship, she never stopped serving her community. Her example taught all of us that making life better for others is one of the highest callings there is.
My mom turned 88 on April 21st, and on this Mother’s Day my brothers and sisters and I are honoring her quiet strength and the values she passed on to all of us.
I’m deeply grateful for everything she’s given our family and our community.
Thank you, Mom.

After meeting with the Anchorage Central Labor Council earlier this week, I jumped on a flight to Fairbanks. It was good to meet with firefighters at the statewide convention and to have a chance to observe part of the negotiations between teachers and the school district in Fairbanks.
A fully funded and forward-funded education system is essential, just as a defined benefit retirement for our public employees is essential. We can build a stronger, more reliable education system in Alaska, and we can make sure public employees have a real retirement after years of serving our communities.

Alaska economic confidence is now at its LOWEST level in 16 years — even lower than during COVID.
Meanwhile, high prices are crushing Alaska families and businesses.
Do we just sit back and let people struggle, leave, and watch our state decline?
The problem is simple:
Alaskans are paying global prices and getting too little in return.
My ADN op-ed this week lays out a plan to fix it:
When oil prices are high, Alaska should capture more value from our resources and use it to lower costs, strengthen infrastructure, support critical services, and invest in our future.
And right now, with global instability making Alaska energy one of the safest resources in the world, we have a rare opportunity to finally get our fair share and build a stronger future for Alaska.
We cannot afford to waste this moment.

NEW: Alaska economic confidence is now LOWER than during the depths of COVID.
That’s according to 16 years of tracking by Alaska Survey Research.
Alaskans are being crushed by rising costs:
• Housing
• Groceries
• Healthcare
And one of the biggest drivers behind all of it is energy.
High energy costs raise the price of almost everything in Alaska. And the problem is fixable. alaskapublic.org/news/2026-05-0…

Great conversations in Glennallen last weekend at the Copper Valley Chamber of Commerce forum. We talked about Alaska’s future — from education and affordable energy to healthcare and a strong fiscal plan.
The campaign trail continues, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of you down the road!

It’s Small Business Week.
Across Alaska, small businesses are being squeezed by rising costs — from utilities and fuel to health insurance, shipping, and unplanned tariffs.
High costs and uncertainty make it harder to grow, hire, keep workers, and plan for the future.
We need to lower costs and lower barriers so small businesses can thrive.
As Governor, I will:
◼️ Lower energy costs by expanding reliable local energy for businesses and communities
◼️ Bring down healthcare costs and reduce prescription drug prices for small businesses and their employees
◼️ Invest in and maintain ports, roads, and cargo infrastructure to cut shipping costs statewide
◼️ Speed up permitting and licensing so businesses can open and expand faster
◼️ Fully support tourism marketing and make it clear Alaska is open for business that strengthens our communities
Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and they deserve a governor who fights for them every day. I will be that governor. apnews.com/article/iran-w…

BREAKING: The latest poll from Republican pollster Dittman Research, conducted April 27–30, shows Tom leading the Republican field by nearly 3-to-1 over the next closest opponent.
The Republican race remains wide open, and any candidate could still make the runoff. But this poll confirms that Tom has the momentum.
(Poll publicly released by the Bronson campaign.)

In Fairbanks yesterday, I had a great evening at the Alaska Professional Fire Fighters convention speaking with firefighters and union leaders from across Alaska about protecting defined benefits, supporting organized labor, and investing in the first responders who keep our communities safe.
