Hey all, I have a little alpha on Native (@goNativeCC) to share. First, I encourage anyone who’s even slightly interested in Bitcoin to read the article Adeniyi posted a few days ego entitled, “BTCFi on Sui: Turning Bitcoin Into Programmable, Productive Capital”. It’s a fascinating read, bringing back memories of Mt. Gox, CGMiner, MSI Afterburner, and spending weekends hunting for stores with graphics cards in stock. Anyway, the most exciting item, in my opinion, was the mention of the Native project (and it's use of @ikadotxyz tech): “And if you’re pushing toward the edge of what’s possible, Native’s nBTC is aiming for the holy grail. It’s a trustless, BTC asset minted on Sui without relying on any intermediary at all.” Okay, time for a little alpha: On a space just a day or two ago, Melvin stated the NFT would be dropping end of this month, or maybe the beginning of August. That’s a piece of news I haven’t seen anywhere – this is going to be a blockbuster NFT launch! They’re releasing 6021 NFTs in total, which includes 21 Mythics (a reference to BTC’s 21M cap). The NFTs will be sold via a process called Uniform Price Auction. This means a batch of buyers will be given WL, let’s say 100-500 of them, and ranked on a leaderboard. When the auction is over, regardless of how much you bid, everyone will pay the price of the lowest bid. So, the real battle doesn’t take place at the upper part of the leaderboard, it takes place at the very lowest spot. There will be multiple auctions carried out at different times over a period of weeks/months. Note that the NFTs will identify the true “Beelievers”. For its part, Native says they will always prioritize NFT holders first! Next will be Native's (eventual) token holders, then everyone else. When it comes to partner projects who want to reward or recognize Native supporters, again, NFT holders will be prioritized. If you are interested in BTC and BTC-adjacent rewards, you want this NFT! Lastly, I’m sure you’re all familiar with Native’s BYield platform. It’s the yield hub where users will have one-click access to BTCFi on SUI. Interesting to note there will also be an AI agent to help you create the ideal BTCFi strategy for your needs! Today, the testnet version of the Byield UI available for user to buy and sell nBTC (using testnet SUI). Don’t sell any BTW, you’ll take a 50% hit on pricing – a clever move designed to discourage bots from manufacturing transactions. Very, very soon now, the next phase of testnet BYield will arrive. Native is working with partners (Magma and Flow-X seem obvious, but likely others too) who will integrate their BTFCi offerings on Byield, and we as users will be able to use the nBTC we’ve accrued to invest. I have to think this activity will be measured and possibly rewarded somehow, but I can’t say anything else about that. 🤷‍♂️ According to Melvin, this next phase of BYield will see the platform acting more like a directory than an aggregator: partners won’t be fully integrated into the BYield platform just yet. Instead, BYield will have links to special testnet versions of the partner’s platforms that they have built just for the BYield testnet. From the sounds of it, they are almost finished, so I expect to see this announced any day now! Thanks for reading.
