22 years ago today The Battle of Danny Boy. What began as an ambush in Iraq became over 3 hours of brutal fighting ending in hand-to-hand combat. To the men beside me that day — your courage and determination will stay with me forever. Hermer & Shiner couldn’t lace are boots!

I wonder if our Prime Minister regrets starting a fight with our veterans? Bad policies lead to bad results.

The government rejected protecting under 16 years-olds from social media 260 to 161, majority 99. While voting to persecute our veterans 373 to 106, majority 267.

I don't want to go into John le Carré mode but my concern for some time has been that Mandelson and / or Starmer have been compromised. It has a similar vibe as Joe and Hunter Biden's relationship with China (including the Chinese Communist Party) in supposed business deals involving Hunter. The Bidens were both weak, flawed men and potential targets of blackmail. I didn't think Joe Biden was fit for office, based upon what was known about him before he was even elected as president. And now, here we are with a Westminster drama that is bizarre. There is an intensive vetting process required for people who are being considered for sensitive posts and it's people like Mandelson who should be filtered out. It's a mystery why anyone thought he was suitable but it's actually quite disturbing that there was a push to make sure he got the role of ambassador. It's all a bit Manchurian Candidate and I'm trying very hard not to jump to certain conclusions about how and why this mess came about. Right now, gross incompetence would be the least problematic explanation and it says something about the government that gross incompetence is the best explanation on a sliding scale.

It’s quite clear from this document the Prime Minister was told this in November 2024. He didn’t want to answer my question…because HE KNEW. He was told. Yet he appointed Mandelson anyway putting our national security at risk.

A FILM THAT NEVER EXISTED - UNTIL NOW What if Britain had fallen in 1940? A Nazi propaganda newsreel from an alternate timeline. But this isn’t archive. AI-generated filmmaking teaser for ‘The Sett’ – feature film in development at Dark Wave.

SAS Soldier B was justified in using lethal force to protect life in a fast-moving and dangerous situation in 1991; when playing his part in opposing an armed and violent insurrection in Northern Ireland. The soldiers that deployed to Northern Ireland at the request of the civil powers to defeat the IRA and other violent terrorists, risked their lives to protect the innocent. It was a solemn, serious and selfless duty. In countless, fast moving, confusing and dangerous moments they looked death in the face, did not yield to fear, doubt or threat, and made split-second, brave decisions to save lives. And in so doing, these courageous souls, these volunteers, helped to deliver the peace that we now enjoy and celebrate. They do not deserve to be persecuted in their retirement by a politically-motivated legal process, triggered NOT by new evidence but by the retrospective application of Human Rights Laws that were never designed to bound the counter-terrorist combat they were ordered to conduct on our behalves. All Strength and Honour to Soldier B and his remarkable friends, and may he, in his retirement, justifiably enjoy the peace he helped to create.

Former SAS Officer Richard Williams, reacts to the Northern Irish Court of Appeal ruling a coroner was legally entitled to find an SAS soldier justified in shooting an unarmed IRA driver as part of a collective terrorist threat to life.

Judges dismiss case against Soldier B as ‘ludicrous’. The question remains why was the soldier forced to stand trial for a 3rd time? telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/04/1…

“The simple step of the courageous individual is to not take part in the lie." Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn would recognize the consistent bullshit coming out of the UK’s Ministry of Defence on defence capability, defence investment and getting ready for war as LIES; and those that peddle them as nothing more than careerist con-artists. There is no plan, no money and no leadership. Just talk, consultant-crafted sound-bites, catchy video-clips, conference speeches, dressing up for selfies, consistent, careless persecution of veterans and other nonsense. Nothing but LIES. I do hope this changes soon, and that the right (courageous and honest) leaders are chosen to change all this. But I see very little sign of it….

@robert_lyman @BBCr4today I’m assuming this Tom Fletcher is not the lead singer of McFly? But perhaps we should ask a boy band what are legitimate military targets.

Listening to Tom Fletcher on @BBCr4today again pushing the canard that roads and bridges are unlawful targets in ‘humanitarian war’. BBC then uses this as the basis for hostile critique of Israeli actions. Cannot the BBC interview someone who knows what they’re talking about, rather than Fletcher, who doesn’t? If Hezbollah use so-called civilian infrastructure for military purposes, its makes it/them legitimate targets. What’s so hard to understand? Doesn’t the BBC realise that Hezbollah want civilian (Lebanese) casualties as they’re a wonderful weapon in the international campaign against Israel’s ‘deliberate murder of children.’ Our media coverage of the war is - frankly - awful.

For the Trump administration to understand: The Strait of Hormuz is NOT OPEN. The UAE does not and will NEVER accept the Islamic regime in Iran imposing CONDITIONS on access. The UAE is not Britain or the EU. It does not accept any terrorist actor restricting freedom of navigation. As for Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia negotiating to keep the regime afloat, understand this: no state has a legitimate right to decide who may pass and under what terms. That is international law, not a bargaining chip. Shame on United Kingdom, NATO, European Union, and anyone who tolerates this regime’s terrorism and piracy.

@hilarybennmp I feel to credit the last Labour government lacks nuance. I would highly recommend reading ‘A Secret History of the IRA’ by late Ed Moloney - an unbiased, objective and most thorough analysis of the peace process.

Today is 28 years since the signing of the Good Friday Agreement, one of the greatest achievements of the last Labour government. We remember those political giants we have since lost who helped make it possible - among them the great Mo Mowlam, John Hume and David Trimble.

On the anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement, we remember a monumental step toward peace. A Labour Government helped deliver it and this Labour Government remains committed to protecting its legacy for generations to come.

Britain is led by a Labour Party who not only hate our Armed Forces, but in some cases actively work to prosecute them. No surprise they’re not investing in Defence. I don’t know how the ex-forces members of this govt can face themselves in the mirror. telegraph.co.uk/gift/5f0d6cd6f…
