This picture is proof that the National Hockey League should regularly allow teams to both wear colors if they are opposite. Common sense can determine which teams would not make sense. Washington and New Jersey can’t do it, but Chicago and Boston can. This picture would not be nearly as magical if the Red Wings were in their roads.

A memo to @nytimes staffers today demonstrates how the Times’ efforts to distribute print copies around the country have been hobbled by the hollowing-out of local news. It points out that printing plants in Los Angeles and Buffalo will be shutting down later this year. 1/
