THREAD THREE of CALLING OUT PROPAGANDA (numbers 30 to 39) CALLING OUT PROPAGANDA No.30 “THAT’S A CONSPIRACY THEORY!” is a comment designed to ridicule, without needing to engage with an argument – and to warn others to stay away from the subject. SOME conspiracy theories may be rightly dismissed as “nuts” and fit for sneers about “tinfoil hats”. But others should not be so easily dismissed. People with power absolutely do conspire together in their mutual interest. It would be strange if they did not. Adam Smith, father of economics, famously wrote, “People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices.” Here are just a few events previously derided as “conspiracy theories” which were or are “conspiracy facts”:- Watergate; various CIA coups; suppression of facts by the asbestos and tobacco industries about how their products are fatal; undercover police in protest groups; suppression of facts by the fossil fuel companies about the climate crisis. Michael Parenti is funny and trenchant: “[They mock]: “Do you actually think there’s a group of people sitting around in a room plotting things?” For some reason that image is assumed to be so patently absurd as to invite only disclaimers. But where else would people of power get together – on park benches or carousels? Indeed, they meet in rooms: corporate boardrooms, Pentagon command rooms, at the Bohemian Grove, in dining rooms at the best restaurants, resorts, hotels, and estates, in conference rooms at the White House, the NSA, the CIA, or wherever. And, yes, they consciously plot – though they call it “planning” and “strategizing” – and they do so in great secrecy, often resisting all efforts at public disclosure. No one confabulates and plans more than political and corporate elites and their hired specialists.”

This BELOW is so much needed Media DOES lie to us every day This morning, for one example, I heard on the Sunday politics shows lie after lie about the Palestine marches. I know they were lies because I have been on most of the marches in the Jewish Bloc All support @PulaRJS!
Double Down News@DoubleDownNews

Fed up of the media lying to you every single day? Double Down Newswatch will hold them to account. Never before has aggressive scrutiny and fearless independent journalism been so important, yet never before has the mainstream media been so narrow in its perspectives, so infected in groupthink, and so tied to this failed political class and system. If you find yourself screaming at the telly at the established pundits and news providers. The Laura Kuenssbergs, the Robert Pestons, the Trevor Phillips, Dana Bash and Bari Weiss, you are not alone. There are millions of people like you and we’re here for you. This is not a program that will tell you what to think, the aim is to provide you with the information and knowledge you need to be able to make informed decisions in a functioning democracy, something that mainstream media is failing to do. Like millions of others I’ve watched in horror and astonishment as the Israelis have used Western weapons and diplomatic protection to maim, mutilate and murder tens of thousands of small children and other civilians. There’s no other issue where the divide between the mainstream media and political class, which apparently regards this as tolerable, and the rest of us who’ve reacted like normal human beings, is so profound. Above all, I feel deep shame and guilt at my own profession which continues to peddle a perverse inverted journalism, where allegations of racism are hurled not at the perpetrators and supporters of ethic cleansing, apartheid and genocide, but at their victims and their supporters, smeared and disempowered as antisemites. Gaza encapsulates the political and intellectual and moral bankruptcy of those who rule over us and those who are to tell us what to think. Western politics and Western journalism is in desperate need of renewal, we want to be a part of that and we hope you join us. @PulaRJS Double Down Newswatch, covering the stories that mainstream media misreports, underreports or simple doesn’t report at all. Premiers this Wednesday 6 May at 6pm

I'm just so so sick of ignorant media Islamophobes in senior positions of the UK & US media viciously going after anyone that dares stand up against the slaughter and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people. Trevor Phillips notoriously got suspended from the Labour Party for Islamophobia, and you get the feeling, watching this astonishingly rude & sneary interview with @ZackPolanski, virtually the only senior British politician to show any sympathy for the Gazans, that Phillips frankly wouldn't lose a wink of sleep if every last Palestinian was erased from the face of the earth. He certainly can't see anything positive about protesting their genocide. Which raises the question: how and why did someone with such a record of toxic divisiveness ever get offered a Prime Time show in the first place?

It is clear that the British Establishment are using lies, smears and dirty tricks to try and destroy @ZackPolanski in the same way as they destroyed @jeremycorbyn NOTE WELL that the British Establishment is quite happy to have Farage in power as he does not threaten them

Thank you LadyD @irisstylosa I am often accused of not being Jewish on X The reason is that my views on Israel are highly critical However, many Jews hold the same views as I do Instead of discussing issues with me, often trolls just insult me by saying I am not Jewish

@CorbynCorbyn2 @TomLondon6 @seabee0 @chiefrabbi It might be worth your looking at all the people on twitter who use a picture, not of themselves, but often of a famous person past or present, in their bio. I don't understand your problem If someone speaks well, with wisdom & understanding, he could be the man in the moon ....

SO MANY complete LIES are being told by politicians and journalists about the Palestinian Marches I have been on many Palestinian marches in London. It is often said that they are weekly but that is not the case. The last one was 31 January 2026 and the next one planned is 16 May 2026. I always march in the Jewish Bloc, which as the name suggests, is made up mostly of Jewish people. It is very difficult to estimate numbers but I would say there are usually hundreds of thousands on the marches and hundreds, sometimes a thousand, in the Jewish Bloc. It seems important to show people that Jews are not all of the same view, and in particular some strongly oppose Israel's actions. I have never seen or heard any antisemitism on the marches. With so many people, no doubt there may be some who are antisemitic but I have never been aware of them. Also, as far as I understand, the amount of arrests for any offences on these marches has been low - particularly in comparison with other events with large crowds. The atmosphere is not aggressive. There are plenty of small kids in buggies. Unfortunately, the meaning of the word "antisemitic" is now often contested. Criticising Israel is not antisemitic but often supporters of Israel claim that any criticism of Israel is antisemitic. Jews who criticise Israel are not at all immune from being called antisemitic. I am frequently attacked online as "antisemitic", as are countless others who are only calling out Israel's crimes. There have been, by contrast to the situation at the marches, hundreds of arrests at silent sit-down protests, where protesters peacefully holding up banners saying "I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action". The typical arrestee is an elderly person who is opposed to Israel's war crimes including genocide in Gaza.

The level of complicity of the @BBC in the ethnic cleansing of southern Lebanon is shocking. I am listening to their Jerusalem correspondent report that the ‘IDF are striking Hezbollah targets’ while I’m on the ground in the middle of it watching men, women and children being killed on a daily basis. My colleagues are being executed. Paramedics are being systematically murdered. All of this is happening in plain sight and the BBC correspondent here in Lebanon knows it. May you all be put on trial for your deadly propaganda when the time comes. Shame on all of you, especially those on the ground who are too cowardly to speak out.

I've worked with Sanders for twenty years. He tells truths the media establishment dreads. Do listen to his thoughtful but quietly powerful manifesto below. I think his new weekly news programme can transform British journalism. It starts at 6pm this Wednesday on You Tube.
Richard Sanders@PulaRJS

Next Wednesday sees the launch of Double Down Newswatch, a new weekly magazine programme that will showcase the best of independent media. Here I explain why it's needed. youtube.com/watch?v=O8OBmd…

1. They are NOT “hate marches”; they are peaceful marches against Israel’s GENOCIDE & UK Govt’s support for it 2. They are NOT cause of the appalling violence against Jews in UK 3. Netanyahu’s claim that he acts on behalf of all Jews when he commits GENOCIDE endangers all Jews
Saul Staniforth@SaulStaniforth

"What.. needs to change?" "There are immediate steps that the govt could take. One of them is to stop the hate marches.." Supporting Palestinians, opposing Israeli genocide & apartheid, & calling out our govts complicity. None of that is antisemitic.

Any serious plan to tackle root causes of antisemitism in UK must: Address Israel’s crimes & genocide BECAUSE Israel falsely claims to be acting on behalf of ALL Jews ALL Jews are obviously NOT responsible for Israel’s crimes BUT Israel itself makes people think that they are

I am a British Jew I condemn all attacks on British Jews I also condemn @chiefrabbi who does not speak for me or MANY British Jews in his constant, uncritical support for Israel which is committing apartheid, illegal occupations, torture, war crimes, crimes against humanity & GENOCIDE
Sajid Javid@sajidjavid

On @BBCr4Today, the Chief Rabbi made a direct appeal to the country. "The silent majority of the UK is with us," he said. "They're with the Jewish community… But the time has now come for the silent majority to raise its voice." He was clear about what is and isn't enough. Letters of support, he said, arrive in abundance. What is needed now is "an outright public condemnation." And he asked the question that hangs over this moment: "If this was happening to any other minority in the UK right now, I presume there would be a very different response from the nation and from the government. Why is it different for the Jewish people?" He is right. Jewish life in Britain is facing a level of threat not seen for generations. Going to synagogue, walking children to a Jewish school, wearing a kippah, shopping in a kosher store - ordinary acts that increasingly feel like acts of defiance. In the past five weeks, four Hatzola ambulances have been firebombed, synagogues attacked and two Jewish men stabbed on the sreet. The terror threat has been raised to severe. Some have spoken. HM The King, politicians from across the parties, faith leaders and others have rightly condemned these attacks. But the response the Chief Rabbi is asking for - and that this moment demands - must be broader than that. Prominent Muslim leaders and organisations - the imams, mosque federations - must speak out clearly and publicly against this hatred. The unions and the vice-chancellors of our universities, given what Jewish students are now living through on our campuses, must raise their voices. Our football authorities, cultural institutions, bishops and anti-racism charities must join in condemning these attacks. Too many have said nothing. That silence is being heard, in every Jewish home in this country. The Chief Rabbi has spoken for British Jews. The rest of us must answer him - clearly, publicly, and now.

Any discussion of the ROOT CAUSES of antisemitism in the UK CANNOT IGNORE Israel's crimes, including apartheid, occupations, crimes against humanity & GENOCIDE and the total uncritical support for Israel of Chief Rabbi & other prominent British Jews This is obviously significant

Banning marches against the GENOCIDE in Gaza and against the British Government’s actions to support & enable the GENOCIDE, will not help tackle antisemitism in the UK I fear it may actually increase antisemitism in the UK We need calm and rational decisions
