@struutinsky Usually once it's written. By then, it's easier to see what fits and what doesn't. Sometimes, ideas emerge that weren't there at the outset.

Writers, when do you usually title your story - before or after writing? After feels logical, but I always did before.

once again, really urging people to get a library card if you haven't already - and not just that, i'm begging you to USE your library resources. show up. though they're important, we do way more than just books. libraries are spaces that allow community building and care.

Where else are folks going lately? Bluesky? Threads? Logging on to this site has diminishing returns.

For the fall issue of Alabama Magazine, I take a trip to Oxford and Anniston. Take in the autumn air at Choccolocco Park, stroll a downtown community centered around a performing arts venue, ponder the past in the Berman Museum, and stay for dinner. On shelves now.

@SusanSavageLee1 And how that fits into the story. If the story presents toxicity for what it is, it should be fair game. If the writing seems to endorse the bad behavior, that should be easy story to skip.

@TomMLittle I’ve worried about that as well. I guess it depends on how toxic they are?

Which “assigned reading” book in high school did you love?

Had an incredible dinner at @FrankStitt's Chez Fonfon. The Boeuf À la Gasconne was the highlight for me, but I'm grateful we didn't miss this muscadine sorbet.
