Russians say that they are fighting for traditional values ​​(and Ukraine is Europe which Russians call "Gayrope" because their view is that everyone is Europe is gay), but they themselves live incomprehensible lives without wives, call their daughters "these women", with rumors about having illegitimate children with women who arent their wives or partners, like Alina Kabayeva and others.  They say that Zelensky is a drug addict, but at the same time, for some reason, reports reveal suitcases of cocaine in Russian diplomatic mail in huge quantities for the Russian authorities and not for Ukrainian.  They say that Zelensky is a thief, but for some reason palaces, yachts, ill-gotten billions of $$ are found and arrested in offshore accounts belonging to the Russian officials and Kremligarchs.  They say that there are Nazis in Ukraine, but it is Russia that has Dugin and white Russian supremacy, imperialism and colonialism ideology, continues genocide of its own ethnic minorities and tortures Central Asian labour migrants, has Nazi parades with Swastikas and other Fascist symbols.

I had the honour of chairing a panel with authors @tenaprelec @HeathershawJ and @TomMayne16 on their new book ‘Indulging Kleptocracy’ for a @taxinparliament event. This is an important piece of work about the role professional enablers in aiding and abetting kleptocracy and the policy change needed to hold enablers and institutions accountable – and as we heard from @susanpjhawley getting smart regulation right will boost growth and give business certainty.
