I’ve seen this mentioned already this season but is one area that we could improve on next is the number of back room staff? Is it time we had two people doing the GM/HC role? Would a goaltending coach be an option with young N/M’ers coming through from the Dogs?

@KetteringhamK Do you think Karen? I would say ours is just as big, if not bigger? You look at the pedigree of our playing squad, I’d be surprised if anyone has spent more. I know Belfast don’t have the rink costs we do

@scuff7 @dazartley Obviously we replaced PU/Gentile and released Seitz (we started with 16), then brought in Watling and Ritchie so we should have had scope to do it.

I paid £4 to watch the Sheffield Titans today against Kingston Sharks, that was better value for money than the Steelers game. Far too many playing for themselves tonight.

@dazartley @scuff7 It’s 20 none homegrown players and injury reserve. I don’t think it’s helped that some of the under performing players are on a Uni deal. I think time has moved on one person doing the GM/HC role, it’s archaic. With the Dogs link, we’re also crying out for a N/M’ing coach.

@scuff7 @TomMerriman82 Isn't there a limit these days on that and we reached ours? Might be wrong. I don't know if bringing in a GM to support Fox or moving Fox to just GM and bring in another coach would help. This season hasn't been great, but that's sport. Take the rough with the smooth.

@scuff7 Yeah I’m not buying into the notion that a Grandslam winning coach is out of his depth like some believe on here. I think the team has had some real adversity, but for whatever reason some of them just won’t buy into it because they think they’re above it or know better.

@TomMerriman82 Mines gone. Tried my best all season to justify some of the lacklustre nay, sloppy performances since Boxing Day, but frankly if some of em went home tomorrow, I doubt I'd be upset. They're told what to do by an experienced coach and...they just don't do it.

I tell you what if we win the World Cup this summer (I can dream), I’m gonna be outraged that we drew 1-1 with Uruguay in an international friendly 3 months prior. It’s like being angry with Arsenal not winning a pre season friendly when they win the Premier League.

@jiggidyjohnston Can’t wait for the season to end. Get shut of all the dead wood. As for bums on seats, it seems as long as people have a laugh the result is secondary these days. It’s not the Steelers fan base of old. They wouldn’t have put up with this rubbish.

Two things: 1. You can’t turn up for the first 20 and last 8 minutes of a game and expect to win it. Same weak mentality when we have any kind of adversity. 2. The ice is terrible, same every week (has no bearing on the result) just dilutes an already poor product.

Fox is out of his depth but answer me this - do you have any confidence whatsoever in our ownership to appoint better? I don't. I fear we're on the Nottingham trajectory of 5 years ago. Invisible owner with no hockey connections. I think the GM/HC job is too big for any one guy

@SteelerJb Out of your depth indicates he doesn’t have enough knowledge, skill or experience - I don’t think that’s the case. In regards to people around him - we have an associate, video and S&C coach. Could we benefit from a goaltending and another assistant coach? Potentially.

So he's got a job for life because of one exceptional season? If we continue blanking for another 5 years, is he out his depth then? The point is, regardless of how competent you think Fox is, the HC's at Belfast, Nottingham and Cardiff all have more "help" than Fox does

Another frustrating part of tonight is how the 4th line was treated and Kelly. They were all playing well and created chances. Then we shorten the bench in the 3rd period and they pay the price? What message is that sending? They deserved to be out there as much as anyone.
