AGENT 6 by @tomrobsmith narrated by Jamie Parker is another 5🌟story. It reaches deep & touches the heart. It’s raw, it’s beautiful, yet ugly. It’s so alive, but oh so deadly. Uplifting yet full of dread. Written so well that it pulls at every emotion within one’s soul. Brilliant

Tom Rob Smith's Child 44 is a brilliant thriller that covers this strain of catastrophic denial and failure. There's a Soviet serial killer. The detective tracking him is up against impossible odds because the Soviet Union is perfect and therefore could not produce a serial killer. So he is hunting someone who must not exist. This self-deceiving aspect of ideological adherence is terrifying. Where you will deny your own children are being mutilated or raped or killed because their reality throws a wrench in the story that’s been sold to you.

CHILD 44 by @tomrobsmith is brilliant! Perfectly narrated by Jamie Parker. It is a masterful commentary on communism presented in story form. It explores the deep & all encompassing control of a people through real, clear present & enduring fear. Highly recommended. A 5🌟 story

This kept me company and captured my imagination this week. A very unusual and captivating read, this would make a magnificent TV serial. Wonderfully written exploration of what it means to be human. First I have read by @tomrobsmith but I have just ordered Child 44.

Just finished reading Child 44 by @tomrobsmith - for most part reads like a perfect thriller that illuminates in fine detail both the crime at its core as well as the societal backdrop where it is playing out; but the end doesn’t quite stick for me making it a 4🌟 thriller!
