@TomWJones @NFLSTROUD I think it's almost certain she assumed UF won the game or something to that affect. Like we've seen countless times though - controversy multiplies when someone avoids admitting the mistake instead of embracing the truth.

@TomWJones @NFLSTROUD @SportsDayTB It’s important to say it’s not just her - errors and omissions are human and journalists are human. There’s no room for treating her with such animosity. Full stop. There is however zero reason to not be forthcoming about a mistake or oversight in her profession.

@NFLSTROUD In one sense Sawyer was correct. Her single vote doesn’t add that much weight to the final poll. But it’s like saying that the other 61 AP voters presumably did their job properly so her lack of focus was fine. It looks horrible. @TomWJones
