@Cheetoignocnito @JacCymro1400 She closed them to destroy organised labour. She didn’t care about the environment. Went from burning coal to immediately burning gas!

@TomPowell6742 @Proper_Memes @BurnsideWasTosh @ZackPolanski I watched it already. That’s why I ask you what solution Gary brought up. He kept saying tax the rich and Daniel explained how wealth didn’t work in practice. Just because Gary didn't like the current system, it doesn't mean he could advocate for something that didn't work.

@linmeitalks A case of using taxation to shape social policy, rather than take a route of maximal extraction, perhaps?

Why are people like Gary so emotional and highly strung …. Chill out buddy and have a normal conversation. Such a good question which I think many don’t know how to answer. Do people want to heavily tax individuals or companies ? What does taxing the rich look like ? Who are the rich? Give me a figure of who that is? How much liquid cash or assets ? How would you enforce it ?

@TomWhitaker_UK @Proper_Memes @BurnsideWasTosh @ZackPolanski Daniel focused on whether a wealth tax works in practice. Gary was arguing whether the current system is fair. And this is 6 minutes out of a 2.5 hour conversation. It’s a stretch to treat that clip as the whole debate.

Respectfully, is he being intentionally dense? I’m not an economist and I understood this easily, why is it so difficult for Gary, a man who calls himself an economist, to understand it?

@TomWhitaker_UK @BearJFK Ok so if their job is to shoulder so much responsibility, how come when the companies they are running lay off huge amounts of staff who are living paycheck to paycheck (because the company pays the the lowest salary possible) they're aren't held accountable and still get a bonus

I’ve met people like him, who argue the same way. They’re bullshitters! Notice to constant talking over and deliberate misinterpreting. Stephen isn’t thick, he’s a bullshit artist. They don’t argue, they bully. Sadly, this comes across as clever by many people, even so-called “educated” people. This is the type of socialist who governs our country. Bullshit artists who have a victim complex.

@TomWhitaker_UK @Proper_Memes @BurnsideWasTosh @ZackPolanski I don’t think he can’t be corrected. That comparison was clearly wrong. The issue is people correcting one bad comparison and acting like it settles the whole question about wealth vs work taxation, which it doesn’t.

@TomWhitaker_UK @Proper_Memes @BurnsideWasTosh @ZackPolanski He didn’t say pays nothing, he compared the wrong things (income vs inheritance) and it came out badly. The actual argument he’s making (wealth vs work being taxed differently over time) is a different question entirely, and Daniel never really engages with that.

@cra5hed @BearJFK Have you also compared CEO job duties between 1970s and 2020s? Do you know many CEOs right now manage their companies globally, not regionally? That's why Daniel said his company earned revenue globally.

@BearJFK If billionaires don't want to be taxed more then they should stop exploiting people so ruthlessly and accept social responsibility. If they don't... well good luck getting a spot in a billionaires bunker.

@BearJFK He may be inarticulate, but that is fully understandable if you earn even a salary slightly above average, paying 61.5% marginal tax, obstructed from building up wealth through your work, month after month. He is pissed - so what? I am pissed. My income is my whole wealth.

@synthwavepen @OldRoberts953 In the whole conversation, he did such thing many times. I remember when Daniel (another guy) said "We should have better economic freedom.", he asked "My sister couldn't afford rent. Is it a freedom?" I mean WTF!!! If you watch the whole video, it is gonna be a nightmare.

@synthwavepen @OldRoberts953 In this clip, he kept interrupting and saying "that's a system we get." to try to get away his lie of the Duke of Westminster paying nothing.
