“Your culture of your organization will be defined by the worst behavior you are willing to tolerate. Todd Whitaker, Steve Gruenert, School Culture Rewired” Carry The Banner “Here are three ways in which your vibe as an educator can attract a tribe of people who are willing to carry the banner for your school or district: Model positive interactions. Effective educators never stop modeling positive interactions. They recognize that every interaction with a student, parent, or staff member is one single moment to inspire more positive interactions and to impact every person they encounter in a positive way. Our organizations and, quite frankly, our profession would be so much better off if we “just modeled this one simple act at every opportunity. Be that moment for others. Remember that your body language reflects your beliefs. One practical way you can ensure you bring your best you into every situation is to bring a positive attitude—regardless of the severity of the situation. Never forget that your body is listening to everything your mind says. If your mindset is projecting an attitude of “we shall overcome,” then your body language and actions will mirror your beliefs. You become what you believe. Show appreciation. A person who feels valued and appreciated will always do and give more than what is expected. Educators who have been blessed to be surrounded by a caring and thoughtful team understand the significance of a simple thank you, pat on the back, handwritten note, or an occasional gift that comes with a personal touch of a shared prior experience. The most heartfelt message we can share with others is our genuine gratitude.” Excerpt From #Culturize Jimmy Casas @casas_jimmy @ToddWhitaker #CultureRewired
