EAGAN: Around 2:40 p.m., officers were in pursuit of the driver of a black Jeep Wrangler. The male suspect was wanted for an unknown previous incident and was described as a black male with dreads, wearing a red shirt and a red hat. The pursuit continued off of I-35E onto Lone Oak Road westbound, then to Highway 13, where the suspect reportedly went into the ditch, crashing into a tree a short time later and about 200 feet from the highway. He fled on foot westbound into the woods and as of around 4 p.m., the suspect search is still ongoing, with a wide perimeter in place, a K9 track underway and multiple drones in the air. According to initial radio dispatches, a firearm was located inside a safe that was still inside the ditched vehicle. It’s unclear if the suspect may be armed. Several agencies are assisting on scene including Burnsville PD, Bloomington PD, State Patrol and deputies with the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office. Call 911 if you have any information.
