Due to increasing wind speeds we are in the process of closing the #M48 Bridge in both directions.

@NymphadoraLupin @2SevernBridges It was looked at, they built another bridge to fix the issue 🤣🤣 the alternative is potential death from overturned vehicles/being swept into the Severn estuary. It’s for safety.

@2SevernBridges The level of disruption and the money I waste every single week is completely unacceptable at this point. If the bridge can’t hack a bit of wind; something seriously needs looking at!!! Because there’s no financial compensation for the petrol used & you’re making thousands do it!

The #M48 Bridge remains closed this morning; we are still experiencing gusts above 45mph. We continually monitor the speeds and will keep updating this feed with information. We do appreciate the issues this causes but the bridge is closed for the safety of all road users.
