For decades, Hindus fell into a 'secular' trap where defending our own symbol became political incorrectness. We were told to stay silent bcz we were the majority majoritarian, but that lecture turned us into a silent spectator as our rituals and symbols were mocked and our faith forced to bow. The Nashik case is the classic horrific evidence of this; a conspiracy inside a reputed office to groom and pressurise Hindu women into changing their lifestyle and faith. The past so called sicular governments often leaned towards other denominations, giving us no sturdy support when we needed it most. The end result is that we permitted the rot to grow deep by fearing the loss of relevance and by ignoring the slow poison. The moment we stopped calling out the double standard, we paved the path for cases like Nashik and Eyewear indulgences against us. The price for that misplaced silence is the cultural degradation we witness today. This is high time that we Hindu's wake up and regain our dharmic glory and identity.
