With @OpenAI ChatGPT, I really don’t recommend using “Instant” mode anymore. With GPT-5.5, Thinking mode has become so fast that it’s basically always worth using. At this point, the only real reason to keep Instant mode around is probably for Free tier users, simply to save GPU resources.

As far as I understand it, the ChatGPT desktop app is more or less being phased out, while ChatGPT itself is increasingly being folded into Codex as a kind of @OpenAI “super app.”
You can already see the first signs of this with the new Codex mode for non-coding tasks.

@AgorithmAg To se stává. Pokud nebyl požadován obrázek, přesto jej "jakoby" zda se generuje, opětovné obnovení chatu konverzace zobrazí text popř. samotný obrázek. Buď je to bug, který opraví anebo kdoví. Každopádně se ti nesekne, jen to je potřeba refreshout.

Has anyone else noticed this GPT-5.5 glitch?
The model appears to start “thinking in pictures” / generating a visual output, but the image never actually populates. It just stalls or returns text instead.
And after that, the chat seems to get rerouted to GPT-5.4, despite 5.5 being selected.
This looks less like a normal failed image generation and more like a routing/UI failure.

Videos tab spotted on the ChatGPT Android beta UI. You can upload videos to ChatGPT but still doesn't seem to be able to *see* the video without using Python. 🤔
