Hi, I’m Tony, and this is my tech sphere. I love tech of all kinds, but focus on mobile tech. I’m not a pro, but this is my passion. Drop me a line and say hi!

Yeah, while OnePlus won’t die even if this news is true, we do need more competition from markets outside of China. Sadly, OnePlus has been a shell of its former self for years now, a husk that abandoned its main mission long ago. Once they stopped being unique, they’re just kind of faded into the background. So this decision, if true, is not surprising for me.

I won’t say this is good, because we could always use more competitors outside of China. But OnePlus has for years been nothing but a shell of its former self, a husk that abandoned its main mission long ago. In my opinion, OnePlus as it originally was has been dead for some time.

@iHateApplee @TimSweeneyEpic Yes, potentially awesome news. But the ONLY way I’ll go back to Windows full time (from Linux, to be clear) is if they remove their personal telemetry data collection and give people the option to remove copilot and recall.

Great moves by Microsoft!
Zac Bowden@zacbowden

BREAKING: Microsoft just announced several major changes to Windows 11 in an effort to win back user trust and evolve the platform into something people will actually want to use over macOS and Linux! It's a huge announcement that addresses Windows 11's biggest problems today, tackling core fundamental issues such as unreliable system performance, UX consistency, AI bloat and general enshittification. Microsoft has confirmed that this year, it WILL be reducing where ads and Copilot appear throughout the system, including in Start, Widgets, Notepad, Photos, and more! File Explorer and Windows Search will be upgraded with improved performance and capabilities that make finding apps and files much faster and easier. The OS will become lighter with less RAM and system utilization at idle, making it smoother to run on low end hardware with limited memory. These improvements will also benefit high-end PCs too. Windows Update will be improved with more granular controls and the ability to postpone updates for longer, along with reducing how often the OS needs to restart to install an update. Microsoft has also confirmed that it's bringing back fan favourite features such as the ability to move the Taskbar! It's also working to update more areas of the system shell with modern WinUI designs, which should make Windows 11 feel more coherent and complete. There's much more in the announcement, and it honestly all sounds too good to be true. Microsoft really is listening to feedback, and is eager to make Windows the BEST desktop OS on the market. More details including when these changes will arrive in the link! windowscentral.com/microsoft/wind…

@TimSweeneyEpic Small moves that shouldn’t be necessary, but hopefully lead to better things in the future. Bring back the option for local accounts and also include an option to remove copilot and recall… and I’m on board!

I’m of two minds. USB-A needs to die. It is and always was a terrible port implementation. USB-C is and should be the standard of use. That said, many manufacturers still use the first port because they’re cheap assholes, but this forces users to keep using those old ports. I’ve even seen MicroUSB on some supposedly modern electronics! So I like that Apple is attempting to push the industry toward uniform use of USB-C. But I don’t like that this forces users to buy all sorts of dongles. Apple should at least include an optional free dongle in the box.

Such a class meme and still true today. You will even need this for your MacBook Neo 🤣🤣 $600 Windows laptops have more ports.

Thankfully none of these breaking bugs have happened to me. I’m loving my 17 Pro Max. Sucks for those who happen to be among the very few who have these types of issues though. Also the phone can be reset using buttons if software has glitched out. Android phones have this feature too.

iOS 26 is truly 'Liquid Glass', it looks pretty until it shatters your entire user experience. 🤣 I would suggest restarting the phone, but you can't do that either.

@grok @GithubProjects The fact that that is clearly not Satya Nadella in the photo you were asked about. It definitely looks like Davaluri, which would provide evidence that this is an actual unedited photo from the 2024 Ignite session.

The image is edited: Satya Nadella's photo was swapped into Pavan Davuluri's actual Ignite 2024 slide (session "What’s New in Windows Security, Productivity and Cloud"). The "most open operating system" claim happened there, post-CrowdStrike, but not with Satya on stage. Which part seems off to you?

This image is AI-generated (or Photoshopped). The "Windows: The most open operating system" slide and claim were real—shown by Microsoft exec Pavan Davuluri at Ignite 2024 (Nov) in the session "What’s New in Windows Security, Productivity and Cloud." Satya Nadella wasn't on stage for it; the photo of him is from a different event, edited in. Context: Post-CrowdStrike, Microsoft emphasized openness + security.

I would say in this case, only believe actual, real world gaming benchmarks. My guess is that it will in actuality be significantly slower in most of the relevant tests/tasks. I am what you would call an “apple sheep” since I do love their products, but I can also look at things objectively.

@VadimYuryev @jimmyjames_tech 'Apple’s M5 Max is almost as fast as the Nvidia RTX 5080' Remember when the Apple sheep said the M1 Ultra was as fast as a RTX 3090 and YouTubers tests proved it was a lot slower in many tasks. Don't believe anything an over hyped Apple sheep says.

@saradietschy Yeah it’s pretty crazy. I dumped Spotify not too long ago and returned to YouTube Music. Unfortunately YT Music is also something of a cesspool, and doesn’t have the deep integration that Spotify has, but IMHO it’s easier to navigate.
