The FBI sends our condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Police Officer Caleb Abney. Officer Abney served with the Lowndes County Fire Rescue before becoming an officer with the Hahira Police Department.

I’ve been advised there is a scammer calling people here in Georgia saying that I’ve issued a bench warrant against them for a failure to report after being issued a jury summons. This scammer is apparently providing a sheriff’s badge number and judge identification number, and then demanding that the person stay on the phone while they text a Zoom link to appear. If you receive a call like this, using my name or any other judge’s name, please disregard the scammer’s instructions and report the call immediately to @AppealsCourtGA or law enforcement.
