If you know, you know. 😉
Every developer starts somewhere.
What comes next is up to you. Build it with Visual Studio. ❤

@jerrynixon Opus 4.5 for C#. Loving Gemini Pro 3 for Flutter/Dart.

@github I wish I had some notice. I have some cool ideas but this weekend I didn't have availablity. I am still doing it, just not as part of this.

@code Is the microphone icon there in the ai area in the pc stable version yet? I had in on my Mac for a long time.

New year, new @code release!
The team focused on housekeeping this past month (closing almost 6k issues!) and feature updates like bringing Agent Skills support to stable and improving the terminal IntelliSense UX.

@code @huggingface @cerebras Did the microphone in the chat go away for everyone that upgraded? Is this an issue or a bug?

@huggingface @cerebras Models provided through this API are currently only available to users on individual GitHub Copilot plans. Learn more in our release notes! #_language-model-chat-provider-api" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">code.visualstudio.com/updates/v1_104…

With the latest @code release, the Language Model Chat Provider extension API is finalized - what does that mean for you?
Models can now be contributed via extensions, so with a single install, you get more model choice via Bring Your Own Key.
Here are some extensions you can install now… 🧵

Claude Opus 4 —> 4.1
The latest and greatest model from @AnthropicAI is now available in the GitHub Copilot model picker. ⚡

@jerrynixon It should have been sized with a ratio of 1 by 4 by 9.

@FlutterDev Having a blast with this and VSCode, GitHub Copilot, and Claude Sonnet 4. Amazing. Spec out an app and it builds it tests it, runs it, debugs it. It is making me define better specs.
One thing, It will continually open up new terminals and then get itself stuck. Any solution?

Copilot in Beat Mode is literally a beast!
I wasn't aware of this until yesterday, and it's looking good (and a bit crazy!)
Beast Mode is a custom chat mode that gives @code's Copilot some superpowers:. Instead of using Copilot's default "Agent", you can use Beast Mode for everything.
Expect:
• More planning
• More tool usage
• More internet usage
• More stubbornness
• Less handholding
• Less fear of acting
If you are feeling lucky, try Beast Mode. I do not recommend using Beast Mode on your $250,000/year codebases yet, unless you are the boss.
Here is a video of how to enable it. You'll find the link with instructions below:

@jerrynixon There’s alway some strange icon I don’t recognize and have to figure it out.

If you are like me, then when someone shares their screen I spend the first few minutes auditing icons in their taskbar. youtu.be/Y0I3JATbg04

@code @burkeholland @damovisa Anyone have issues registering for online. I saw this topic and spent 15 minutes trying to register and sign on. Loop after loop of logins.

Do you think AI is overrated? Let's see if @burkeholland and @damovisa can change your mind in their Build session "GitHub Copilot for Skeptics Who Still Think AI is Overrated" - happening NOW!

@TonyThornton_ Of course - just use our SQL Projects hosting extension. Works for my customer project with 5 dacpacs.
English

@ErikEJ .Net 9.0 Aspire 9.0 (9.1) Community Toolkit MSSQL in AppHost… I have 7 dacpacs that I would like to load in my AppHost. I have the server running, a redis cache, an api and a web front end. That’s all working great. Is it possible?
English

@ErikEJ @jerrynixon Davide Muri just gave you and your GitHub a mention at VS Live. SDK. Looking at the rules now.
English

@TonyThornton_ @jerrynixon If you use MsBuild.sdk.sqlproj, feel free to reach out!
English

In case you didn’t know, there are three types of SQL Database Projects, each catering to different development workflows and needs. There's the full-featured Visual Studio SQL Database Project, the modern SDK-Style approach optimized for CI/CD, and the community-driven MSBuild.Sdk.SqlProj for automation-first workflows.

English

@ErikEJ @jerrynixon Awesome. I will create some scripts to simulate a real world example I can share.
