@nickfloats Totally agree with this. Spotting these nuances comes with experience and having generated thousands of assets. v7’s style references and omni reference system are going to open up entirely new creative possibilities. I just can’t wait to see how it evolves the workflow!

I almost see GPT-4o image and MJ as two totally different products actually. When you know exactly what you want, 4o shines. But it’s not the tool for exploration or style development. It's slow, but precise. Built for nailing specifics, not exploring ideas. MJ is more of a creative playground. It’s fast, iterative, and lets you explore aesthetics, develop unique styles, and tune a personalized look. You can mash styles together, riff on ideas, and see where it takes you. It provides you with far more creative freedom. 4o excels at applying existing styles (like transferring a ghibli look to an image) but lacks the flexibility to truly mash things up quickly or inspire wild experimentation. Exploration is in MJs soul. Style references, mood boards, personalization, parameters to tweak and tune to your liking. 4o load time kills the vibe for rapid iteration. If you’re trying to cycle through a bunch of ideas and aesthetics, the wait is a massive bottleneck. It’s a one shot deal, great if you nail it, slow and frustrating if you don’t. Midjourney leans into AI as a creative medium in ways 4o can't and likely wont (just like Sora or Dalle, they probably wont update it until the next release, and who knows when that'll be) Also, the upcoming omni reference system in V7 (think logos, objects, and characters seamlessly blended into your work) might rival 4o capabilities, but in seconds instead of minutes. They’re both great tools, but they’re playing different games.

Sora goes “unlimited” but, watermarked/720/slow boat for the $20 tier. You know what would get me back on the Pro ($200) plan? Release the “Big Daddy” Sora model for Pro users. Keep the Nerf’d version for the $20 folks. As is: 720 doesn’t really do anything for me, as I’m just going to upscale it in Topaz anyhow. And when I was heavily using Sora, I’d burn through credits in a day, and I was used to the Slow Boat anything. Which, to their credit, wasn’t actually that slow. What would pique my interest (for a month or two at least) is to use the Big Daddy model that the Shy Kids, Paul Trello, and Toys R Us got to use. Or…Sora v2.
