It looks like voters will get a say on whether to maintain the tax on income over $1 million that was passed earlier this year- and I look forward to the public having their say on this important policy. To be clear, this reform of our regressive tax code included expansion of tax credits for working families, relief for small businesses, and investments in K-12 and affordable childcare. One more thing voters should know: so long as I am Governor I will veto ANY attempt to lower the threshold or raise the rate of this tax-- we are asking those who make the most to pay a little more, and providing relief to workers and small businesses. Let's keep it that way.

The Seattle Police Officers Guild is defending its criticism of Mayor Katie Wilson after members of her staff asked the union earlier this month to delete a social media post.
The May 18 post included surveillance video showing a shooting outside a Capitol Hill nightclub.
“Another example of CCTV cameras helping Seattle Police Department detectives and SPOG members investigate violent crime in Seattle,” the post stated. “Mayor Katie, how many more examples do you need? Don’t take away the vital tools officers rely on to identify, locate, and apprehend violent criminals in our city.”

Frustrated by recurring gunfire tied to Aurora Avenue’s long-running and increasingly deadly crime problems, some North Seattle residents have begun barricading neighborhood streets themselves.
Supporters call it a safety measure, though it is also raising concerns that the makeshift barricades could delay ambulances and fire crews responding to emergencies.
In recent days, neighbors near North 97th, 98th, and 102nd streets hauled in large metal planter boxes, dirt, and gravel to partially block residential roads feeding into Aurora Avenue North, one of Seattle’s busiest corridors.
