Too Young For Broadway Joe
@TooBroadway
Jets fan young enough to never see Namath; old enough for decades of suck. Also root for Isles, Knicks & Yankees. can u guess where I’m from?

my current thoughts on what #Jets should do this offseason. Forget about signing any lame veteran.
Take elite defender at 2.
wr at 16.
one of Simpson/Chambliss/Nuss at 33 or 44
AND one of Allar/Beck/Other at 103
Both fail? Tomlin gets the best qb of his career in 2027!

@stephenasmith Well I wish he would’ve collapsed just a little more. (I threw $5 on Sheffler earlier today that would’ve won about $70)
English

@RichCimini Personally, I believe in the exact opposite approach. I believe you should only consider premium positions, and also, be humble enough to know you can be wrong. So if someone wants to give up assets to “go get THEIR guy”, you take it for more bites at the apple

Jets insider: “If you love the player, go get the player (regardless of positional value).” How it applies at No. 2 … David Bailey, best pass-rushing prospect in a decade? … Buzz at WR … Prime position for a trade … more notes. #Jets

@IceWarsNYRvsNYI So it’s as simple as Flyers need to lose both games and isles need to win both or they’re out, right?
English

@PaulFiore I’m right there with you! So I probably won’t be mad either way. But my preference is to trade down with a team that’s willing to part with a 2027 first rounder.
English

I've been on the fence about Bailey v Reese. With less than 2 wks to go, unless they trade down, I have my pick:
Bailey probably gets you 10 sacks a yr. Reese changes your entire defensive identity if coached and developed right. #Jets should take the swing for the upside. IMO

@JetNation My dream scenario is someone is willing to give up a 2027 first to move up.
English

The Jets are letting people know that the Jets are willing to trade back
New York Jets@nyjets
Would the Jets trade up/back in Round 1? "Everything is on the table. I'm always going to pick up the phone."
English

@JetNation I remember people saying they expected about a 2nd for Quinnen. The idea that they also got a 2027 1st was amazing. I was way more excited about this trade than Sauce. (Although contract situation was a big part of that.)
English

@BoyGreen25 I pretty much want 2027 from every team BUT the Cowboys. Because it’s, by definition, the lower of their two picks

ESPN's Bill Barnwell floated out a potential blockbuster #Jets #Cowboys draft day trade.
It would involve NYJ moving down from pick No. 2 to pick No. 12, acquiring a 2027 1st rounder in the process.
Would you do it?

@SharmSports Swap out pick 66 for the Titans 2027 first, and you got yourself a deal
English

@IceWarsNYRvsNYI Thanks. Good episode. Hopefully they get a spark that gets them into the playoffs
English

@JetNation He’d instantly become one of the higher paid players at his position. Before proving he can play in the NFL. It’s just foolish to take that kind of chance.
English

@JetCastPod A month ago, I was convinced they should take Bailey. I’ve come around on Reese. I’m kinda thinking higher ceiling AND higher floor, when you consider he can still have value even if he’s not an elite pass rusher
I still prefer trade down to anyone willing to give up 2027 1st

The New York Jets are heavily favored to select Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese with the second overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, according to multiple reports. This would be a significant move for a Jets franchise that has struggled to find defensive playmakers in recent years.
Reese has been one of the most dominant defensive players in college football, and his combination of speed, instincts, and tackling ability could transform New York's defense immediately.
The real question isn't whether Reese is talented enough to warrant a top-two selection, it's whether the Jets can properly develop him and build a winning culture around their young talent. History suggests that high draft picks alone don't fix organizational problems, and the Jets have been a cautionary tale in that regard. If this pick comes to fruition, it will signal that the Jets are prioritizing defense as the foundation of their rebuild.
Time will tell if that's the right strategy, but Reese certainly has the tools to be a franchise-altering player if everything falls into place.
What do Jets fans think about this potential pick? Is Reese the answer, or should they be looking elsewhere at No. 2?

Could he fall out of the 1st round? Would make for an interesting day two.

🚨Jordyn Tyson is “trending in the wrong direction” leading up to the draft. “Many scouts remarked that Tyson's hamstring injury and lack of predraft workouts could cause him to slide to the back half of the first round.” #NFL #NFLDraft #JordynTyson
