Thank you for sharing in our classroom this month! I am so thankful to work in a district that allows us to use Tools. It's my favorite curriculum packed with so many fun and developmentally appropriate activities.

Graphics Practice, one of my favorite activities! We were practicing our fishing hooks today. They were on point today with their self-regulation putting their markers up "cheeta speed" when the music stopped.

This crew is helping to make signs as we prep for our next theme. They love helping to create signs and props, they love the tempra paint sticks too!

At Tools, we know children need time to play and that it’s the most developmentally appropriate way for them to learn. High-level intentional play is a way of life in Tools classrooms.

Hi! I'm Michelle Gilbert, I teach in Matawan-Aberdeen, NJ. I have been teaching #PreK for 22 years. Teaching PreK makes me feel like Peter Pan....I never have to grow up. Everyday is filled with fun, creativity, silliness & adventure. I am excited to share our classroom!
Thank you so much for joining our class in all our learning this December. Tools is such a joyful and developmentally appropriate curriculum, I am grateful to have the opportunity to teach it everyday! Lots of Love, Mrs. Wingard and Ms. Susan!

We did a festive Graphic Practice today and used our knowledge of "around close" for the snowballs and "bowls" and "across" to make the face and arms. The snow-people turned out great!

Today, when we read The Gingerbread Cowboy, we shared with our partner about what desert animal could run away from the Gingerbread Cowboy!

In Story Lab, we have been extending the story of the Gingerbread Characters by thinking about what other characters could run away from the Gingerbread Man.

The growth throughout the school year in gaining skills and developing into young writers is so amazing to watch!

So many literacy skills are learned during Make-Believe Play Planning. It is so helpful to teachers because we are able to use student's ZPD to know what specific scaffolds they are currently working on in writing.

In the Treat Shop today, students practiced counting by making sundaes and ice cream cones. The customers enjoyed a book book while they waited for their ice cream order to be ready.

"Well, I am the mom and mom's like hot sauce. But not for the baby! She would go blech!" The convos in the fancy restaurant are the best. When kids really get into their roles they are so engaged. It is amazing to see how their play has evolved since the beginning of the year.
Thank you Ms. Novielli, Tools Preschool Teacher of the month. Now in her 2nd year teaching with Tools, Ms. Novielli sees how seamlessly her children use what they know to learn new things. Take a peek into Ms. Novielli’s classroom: hubs.la/Q02_Y0HF0
