THE BLACK BALL is my favorite competition film at Cannes this year. A big gay epic staged with heaps of thought and style. Such a refreshing jolt of energy. Los Javis are the real deal. hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-r…

A major Cannes breakout moment is in progress with LA BOLA NEGRA (The Black Ball), directed by Javier Calvo & Javier Ambrossi, and starring Guitarricadelafuente, Carlos González, Miguel Bernardeau, Penélope Cruz & Glenn Close. Critic scores - and a US deal - should be imminent.

@dougdougie__ @frogcowgirl I never said he was honoring boundaries I said he was acting like he was. Every time she kissed him he went are you sure this is okay knowing the situation was inappropriate

@TopherTopher33 @frogcowgirl He could have just asked her out but he didn’t wanna deal with being rejected. Obviously no one thinks he knew the wish would come true, but I’m not really sure what part of this movie makes you say he was honoring boundaries

@dougdougie__ @frogcowgirl I just think it’s funny how toxic masculinity is such a widespread issue with Andrew Tate and others. Here it’s like the reverse of that issue. He’s acting respectful and like he’s honoring boundaries only because it’s his attempt at having actual control over the individual

@dougdougie__ @frogcowgirl Well normally in these types of movies like a freaky Friday switch up they immediately try to revert back but can’t for what ever reason. The horror here is he never instinctly reverts back or attempts to

@MTGraveStudio I think when he does Texas he’s gna focus on how unnerving the town is. Just like how the town of derry is ‘off’ .. we’re gna be scared before we even get to leatherface

I assume Curry may have his Texas be contemporary and the monster wielding the chainsaw isn’t as scary as the town they pass through that doesn’t quite care if violence falls upon a group of youngsters because they aren’t one of ‘them’. Like Jesse plemons character in civil war

If one of the scariest things about IT is how the town and parents seem to either not care about the monsters presence or it’s just easier to look the other way .. if Texas Chain was scary during the nam war because of the town seemingly not caring about what’s under their noses

She will have a chance to pick any role she wants next more so than an Oscar buzz path to the award shows type of thing. Respectfully imo

Her effectiveness in film is more an attribute to how good curry is at eliciting scares. I think Oscar pundits who are embarrassed on missing out on the Amy thing or who declared No throughout the season just want to be the first saying Inde is a thing. I think this is more of a

As someone who picked up on Amy getting an Oscar before opening weekend was done.. I don’t see a path for Inde. She’s a sixth spot globe comedy actress maybe. She’s lead no way she can go supporting. She’s also not giving Kathy or Glenn.. it doesn’t even feel like a performanc
