@Stevinho21 @60Minutes I see your perspective in regards to your last point.
English

@TorRoby @60Minutes I only brought up other groups to show that it was a common practice for krewes to gatekeep their members. Just like non-black people are greatly discouraged to put on an Indian costume. I think it probably should be these days to keep the culture unique.
English

“It is the greatest kept secret in America and throughout the world today,” says Howard Miller, president of the Mardi Gras Indian Council and is what’s known as a big chief in the community. “These cultures date back to the slavery days.” cbsn.ws/4tmGYoG
English

@Stevinho21 @60Minutes But you were disagreeing with his statement on the African American experience. He didn't say other groups weren't discriminated against, so not sure how that became a part of this discussion.
English

@TorRoby @60Minutes Germans, Irish, Jews, Italians, and and almost all white immigrants weren’t allowed to join in the early days either. My distinction is that almost all New Orleanians weren’t allowed to join Krewes
English

@Stevinho21 @60Minutes 1. They couldn't sit in the front of the bus, but they were allowed on the bus".
2. They weren't allowed to go to school with white students, but they were allowed to go to school.
That distinction doesn't change his point that there was discrimination.
English

@60Minutes When he said that they weren't allowed to go to the big parades and stuff, that wasn't true. They weren't allowed to be apart of Krewes(maybe that's the and stuff part), but to say they weren't allowed to attend parades is false.

@SoftLyfe718 @wallydollarlive @KollegeKidd Correct, it is to protect the 18 year old high school senior.
English

@TorRoby @wallydollarlive @KollegeKidd And the reason why it's only 2-3 years older is to protect high school students who are dating their peers, not to protect grown men who want to groom teen girls.
English

@wesleys_theory1 @KollegeKidd People didn't know about this relationship in the 90s, and it would have definitely hurt Brandy,'s career if people found out.
English

@KollegeKidd they are talking about it so casually. I just means that that industry thought it was normal and OK, hence why it was so common back then.
English

@wallydollarlive @KollegeKidd In a lot of states where a teenager can consent the adult cannot be more than 2 to 3 years older. Wanya is 6 years older than Brandy, it was predatory for him to be with her.
English

@KollegeKidd Ya gotta understand, some states was legal at 14 in the 90’s… 16 and early 20’s was nothing back then. And aoc still is 16 TODAY in majority of states and countries even though social media is overwhelmingly against it.. it’s legal

Bob Mueller was one of the finest directors in the history of the FBI, transforming the bureau after 9/11 and saving countless lives. But it was his relentless commitment to the rule of law and his unwavering belief in our bedrock values that made him one of the most respected public servants of our time. Michelle and I send our condolences to Bob’s family, and everyone who knew and admired him.

@AyaFrequency @Phil_Lewis_ Uncle Nearest is $100 million in debt, the bank is trying to avoid bankruptcy and went to courts to request a receiver. The judge agreed and appointed the receiver that the Weavers chose.
English

@Phil_Lewis_ While there is much that we all do not know. All I do know is that I was able to try this liquor because of a Black Woman and I believe she needs to have more control over the company. Who appointed this receiver? She needs more Black women in her corner not this man...
English

A judge ruled that Uncle Nearest founder Fawn Weaver was not authorized to file for bankruptcy as the whiskey company is under the control of a receiver finance.yahoo.com/markets/stocks…

@DailyLoud All he is saying is tithes should be your first line item then pay the rest of your bills. Scripture says if you give to God first he will bless you with enough to pay your bills, and provide you with additional overflow. He's speaking on what do you prioritize.

@RogersSsempijj6 The judge who handled Bob Johnson's divorce married his ex-wife...it happens🤷🏾♀️
English

@BookerGWash Texas as a whole is Southwest, that's the culture. Houston is more "Deep South" bc of the transplants. The migration of Louisiana, Mississippi, etc has ingrained a more Southern feel.
English

@shauna1187 Do we....because both of them have been re-elected multiple times.
English

Texas deserves better than this.
Senator John Cornyn@JohnCornyn
Just like the rooster crowing thinks he is the reason the sun came up.

@NaturalBB_Conn @unclelukereal1 That isn't true. The majority of HBCU coaches are professional. A lot of them are either recruited from other conferences, or go on to coach in other conferences.
English

@unclelukereal1 @unclelukereal1 have you seen these HBCU coaches? A lot of them are unprofessional and barely can coach. I’ll take the chance of my kid playing at a PWI. More exposure
English

College coaches are not prioritizing Black athletes' futures. Many support Trump, ignore DEI, and treat players like used car salesmen. It's time for HBCUs to step up and for alumni to invest in programs that genuinely care about these young men. #CollegeSports #NIL #HBCUs
English

@Mattapandiva @unclelukereal1 That is not the reason why they are called HBCUs.
English

@unclelukereal1 I’m so sick of hearing about HBCUs, the majority of them are named after white men & women. They just call it HBCU because it’s in an area ONCE predominated by copper colored people. Btw. Bill Gates wife gave a lot of money to HBCU & taxpayer money.
