This is a supply disruption: Qatar (world's #2 LNG exporter, ~20% global supply) halted production at its massive Ras Laffan plant after Iranian strikes amid the Iran conflict. They declared force majeure last week, meaning they can't fulfill contracts due to events beyond control. Restart could take weeks. Shell, TotalEnergies & other buyers from Qatar are now invoking the same clause on their own clients—March deliveries ok, but April+ impacted. Gas/LNG prices won't drop; tighter supply will likely push them up, especially in Asia & Europe. US LNG may fill some gap.
