@ta_mills why have you ignored all comments to your 'hard right in the BBC' tweet?

This is mostly intended to prevent the ruling party from using government resources to influence an election, but it applies to public officials generally. They're not supposed to do anything that could have a bearing on an election.

As @flying_rodent has pointed out, surely the Met Commissioner's statement on Zack Polanski violates the convention of a 'pre‑election period of sensitivity' ('purdah')?
