‼️ UPDATE ON HILLEL INTERNATIONAL AND THE NEW SCHOOL: Hillel International is in talks with The New School after its student government voted to defund and cut ties with the campus Hillel chapter—marking what appears to be the first such move at a US university. The measure, passed just before Shabbat, accuses Jewish students of violating “international law” over events involving the IDF. “The New School famously sheltered Jewish intellectuals fleeing Nazi persecution — and yet its student senate voted to deprive Hillel of funding unless it severs ties with Hillel International, the world’s largest and most inclusive Jewish student organization,” said CEO Adam Lehman. “Demonizing Hillel with false charges rooted in age-old antisemitic tropes is wrong, plain and simple. We are in active conversations with university leadership and Jewish community partners to ensure every Jewish student at The New School has access to the Hillel experience, support, and resources they deserve.”
Mossad Commentary@MOSSADil

‼️ NEW: Students at The New School voted to “suspend future funding and collaboration” with the campus Hillel chapter, calling it a “landmark decision.” The senate claims Hillel has “extensive ties to violations of international law,” stating: “To continue to fund Hillel at the New School would mean that your student fees would be used to support violations of international law.” No international criminal convictions against Israel exist.

Yes, you have it. The chain: 1. Oil shock raises costs across the economy. Inflation gets sticky. 2. Fed cannot cut without making it worse. Rates stay high. 3. Households and small businesses cut spending to absorb fuel and credit costs. 4. Demand breaks. Earnings miss. Jobs follow. That is the recession. Stagflation is the waiting room. Recession is the door at the end of the hall.

AI CAPEX IS STILL THE TAPE. The reason is a headline rotation, not a regime change. Today's stack: → Iran delivered new proposal to US through Pakistani mediators Thursday, Brent gapped down on print → Trump told Congress Iran war has "terminated" to dodge 60-day War Powers vote, blockade and Hormuz closure continue → Trump: not satisfied with proposal, talks not getting there, gave Iran a "final proposal" → UK Navy says Hormuz transit down 90% since war began → USS Gerald R. Ford carrier left the Middle East → Trump hiked EU auto tariffs to 25% effective next week, DOW underperformed → Spirit Airlines preparing to shut down per WSJ, Trump teased rescue talks → Fed Logan and Hammack both dissented hawkish at FOMC, Kashkari warned Hormuz could force hikes → ISM Mfg PMI 52.7 in line, S&P Global PMI 54.5 beat → AAPL +5% biggest daily move since August, lifted Nasdaq → Pentagon signed classified AI deals with NVDA, MSFT, AWS, Reflection AI → META acquired Assured Robot Intelligence for humanoid robotics → XOM beat $1.16 vs $1.00, CVX beat $1.41 vs $0.95 → LYB flagged Middle East war steepened global petrochemical cost curve → US national debt now exceeds GDP for first time since WWII → 29 SPX stocks at new highs today, 24 are AI capex plays → Citi pulled forward BOJ hike call to June from July Bottom line. Iran proposal headline cracked the energy bid for one session. Hormuz still shut. Blockade still on. Trump rejected the proposal in the same news cycle. The regime change is not in. This is a Friday afternoon fade waiting to be retested Sunday night. Two-week catalyst stack: → Iran proposal response and ceasefire renewal window → Senate Banking Clarity Act markup mid-May → WMT, TGT, DG earnings (consumer dispersion print) → EU auto tariff implementation → Fed speakers parade with Logan and Hammack as the new hawkish anchors → China sulfuric acid export ban began today, copper supply tightens Stay nimble. The tape is being carried by 7 names and one headline.

Today made it sharper. The setup: - Fitch flagged the US sovereign rating tonight - Debt past 100 percent of GDP - Iran war cost crossed 50 billion - ECB and BOE out hawked the Fed - 30 year closed at 4.99 Here is the dot nobody is connecting. 1946 had the same debt ratio: - At 2 percent yields - With real rates negative for a decade - The debt got inflated away 2026 has the same ratio: - At 5 percent yields - With a Fed that cannot cut - With foreign buyers leaving - With no productivity miracle outside the AI capex basket Stealth QE is not a policy choice. It is the only exit left. The bond market is keeping count.

The last time this happened, World War II just ended and the US was the sole industrial power on the planet. This time, interest on the debt is already bigger than defense spending. Ferguson's Law was breached in 2024. Same ratio, opposite setup. 30Y at 4.98. Japan is a forced seller. The Fed is quietly re-adding duration. Stealth QE is the tape. The bond market is the scoreboard.

@VitalTrades @KobeissiLetter Sorry I just wanted to be sure I understand what you are staying. Stagflation is inflation with a slow economy right? So if true, this could cause a recession because people cannot pay for higher inflation which would then cause the economy to tank…..Is that right?

@Touchdownjet51 @KobeissiLetter That’s the risk, but the cleaner read is stagflation first: oil shock + sticky rates + no shale supply response. Recession comes if demand finally breaks. The market is still pricing the first part.
