When the Apostles Peter and John entered the tomb they found not one but two cloths. One was the Shroud of Turin, the other? The Sudarium of Oviedo, proof of the Passion of our Lord. Modern academics tried to disproof it, but failed. The Sudarium is further proof of Christ's passion and here is all the evidence scientists found after studying it: Read the Gospel of John (20:6-7). When Peter and John run into the empty tomb, they don't just see a missing body. They see a crime scene. They document exactly two cloths: the larger burial linen (The Shroud of Turin) and a smaller cloth that had been wrapped around His head, folded and set apart. That second cloth is the Sudarium of Oviedo. Jewish law demanded that if a man’s face was brutally disfigured, it had to be covered immediately. The Sudarium doesn't have a miraculous image on it. It is a terrifying, blood-soaked rag used to hastily wipe the shattered face of the Messiah before He was wrapped in the Shroud. Modern forensic science put both cloths under the microscope. The results make skeptics sweat. They both contain rare Type AB blood. The Sudarium is soaked in a specific mixture of one part blood and six parts oedema fluid—the exact biological result of lungs filling with fluid when a man dies of asphyxiation on a cross. There are exactly 120 points of coincidence between the bloodstains on the Sudarium and the Shroud of Turin. The 8-centimeter nose length matches. The puncture wounds from the thorns on the nape of the neck align flawlessly. The pollen trapped in the fibers tracks the exact escape route of the Christians fleeing the Persian and Muslim conquests: Jerusalem, North Africa, and finally Spain, where it has been guarded in the Cámara Santa since 718 AD. The mathematical probability of two independent medieval forgers faking this exact microscopic alignment is absolute zero. The Apostles didn't hallucinate the shroud and the sudarium. They walked into a cold stone tomb and found the physical, blood-soaked evidence of the greatest rescue mission in human history. The blood is real. The wounds were real. And the King is alive.
