Someone painted a plant that does not exist and surrounded it with text that has never been decoded. On another page, naked women sit in green pools connected by a stem to a flower that is not a flower.
The book is six hundred years old. Nobody knows who wrote it or why. Every few years someone claims to have broken the cipher. They publish a paper. The paper falls apart. The book returns to silence.
The possibility that stops me is not the mystery of what it means. It is the possibility that it was never meant to be read.
