@4thSnake I don’t think most people care much about whether someone plays the older games or the newer ones, I think people just want Resident Evil fans to play the Resident Evil games. Video games are an interactive medium!! The interactivity is simply part of the core experience!

Sincerely, if someone doesn't won't play older Resident Evil games - be it the cost of getting them all, the time on top of everything else in their lives, or just not gelling with that style of game - why do you ACTUALLY care? Why do you feel the need to shame strangers for it?
