@Colly_wobbles No, my daughter is the same age, she also recently went to Amsterdam. She got a huge telling off when the Mam I'm here safe text didn't arrive!
English

@Her_Nonymous_D Absolutely not, I wouldn't defend either of my children if they were in the wrong. My Son spoke to his girlfriend terribly once & he got such a telling off & I made him apologise. I reminded him thats not how I bought him up & show some respect! He apologised!!
English

it bothered me deeply. At first it was dismissive, then it turned controlling, and eventually it became outright cruel. I called him out on it several times. I hoped he’d listen. I hoped he’d change but he didn’t.
When they eventually broke up, I thought that would be the end of the story. But it wasn’t. She had nowhere else to go, and returning to her own mother wasn’t an option because she’s just as narcissistic as my son (her boyfriend). So I made a choice that surprised even me. I decided to help her.
We found a place together, and slowly, I watched her come back to life. The same woman who once second-guessed everything she said or did began to stand a little taller. The tension that used to fill the air gradually gave way to peace. She started smiling more, laughing more, breathing easier.
English

People always assume a mother will automatically take her son’s side, no matter what. I used to believe that too, until I watched my own son become someone I couldn’t defend.
When he first introduced me to his girlfriend, I genuinely liked her. She was warm, respectful, and had this gentle way of trying to make everyone around her feel at ease. But as time went on, I started noticing the little cracks. The way she’d pause before speaking, like she was weighing every word. How she’d apologize even when she hadn’t done anything wrong. How she seemed to shrink in on herself whenever he was around.
It didn’t take long to understand why. The way my son spoke to her…

@Jenny_1884 No, ive seen first hand how organ donation can change a life. It literally is the gift of life, without this my best friend wouldn't be alive.

@Jenny_1884 This made me laugh, I said this to my friends & they disagreed. I can't tell them why I find him a bit creepy though!

A price cap on pet prescriptions has been announced by the Competition and Markets Authority meaning pet owners could soon pay no more than £21 for a first prescription and £12.50 for additional medicines.
And honestly… it’s about time!!!
At Dogs on the Street, we are a registered veterinary practice providing accessible, free veterinary care to some of the most vulnerable people in our communities including those who are street homeless. Every single day, we see the reality of what rising veterinary costs are doing to pet owners who simply cannot afford help elsewhere.
Our own veterinary costs are increasing daily because the demand for support is growing at an overwhelming rate. More people are reaching out to us than ever before, not because they want to, but because they have nowhere else to turn.
What makes this even more frustrating is that as a veterinary practice, we know the true cost of medications at wholesale. For example, a course of antibiotics that may cost us around £7 can end up being charged at £50 or more in some practices. For many, that difference means the choice between getting treatment or going without.
This is why today’s announcement matters.
It’s a step towards fairness, transparency, and much-needed regulation within private veterinary care , something we have long needed to protect both animals and the people who love them.
But more still needs to be done.
Until then, we will continue to stand in the gap providing care, compassion, and support where it’s needed most.
Because no one should have to choose between feeding themselves or treating their dog. 🧡

Beyond my comprehension. They've been together for 13 years - even if there were looming vet bills - HOW COULD SHE.😡😡😡😡
