Latest bizarre argument against teaching grammatical terminology is that there are occasionally different terms for things. So that makes it all pointless or too difficult. Perhaps we shouldn't teach science then, since scientific terminology has occasionally changed too....

Spending time over the last week with primary language leads has been wonderful. I’m still scratching my head about transition though. Collective MFL hive mind - what could we do to make it work?

This half-term our focus turns to language teaching in KS2. Visits to our local primary schools are showcasing great provision. So why are lots of Year 7 students already reluctant learners when they arrive at secondary? What can we do to make transition more effective?
