India and New Zealand commenced the first round of in-person negotiations for a comprehensive and mutually beneficial Free Trade Agreement (FTA) today in New Delhi. This follows the formal launch of the FTA process on 16th March, followed by a series of virtual meetings that laid the groundwork. The negotiations mark a significant step toward strengthening bilateral trade and deepening economic ties between the two nations. #DoC_GoI #FTA @IndiainNZ

Interesting perspective below. Hard choices to be made when it comes to securing key interests. Would we do differently? But the bigger picture is a further weakening of the global trade system. UK can balance this by supporting deepening and expanding #CPTPP @TradeWorksNZ

The alternate views on the US trade deal are either - the UK lost because US tariffs are higher than January, or the UK did fine but gave up on the principles behind free trade. I don't agree on either count but they are debates worth having.
