Back when I was studying the basics of traditional animation. I did a couple flour sack pencil tests. I used a full Pizza Roll bag as reference. I’m not gonna lie, it worked and after I celebrated by eating them! I’ll post the pencil tests next. 😆🍕😆🍕🍽️

My second magic effects test from my training in 2013. Still not 100% there, I remember underestimating the difficulty of magic. Or at least making it look Disney/Bluth. But as the Genie would say, “Let’s make some MAGIC!” 🪄🧙‍♂️🧞‍♂️😆

One of my favorite things to do and learn in animation is effects. Here is a test I did in 2013 trying to learn magic effects using an ellipse. Effects animation is good for those who normally think technical or literal. It’s less about feelings and more about science.

Here is a close-up image of a deleted Hell Hound scene from All Dogs Go To Heaven. There were several close-up shots of the beast attacking Charlie in his NIGHTMARE. This is a single frame from one of the several close-up scenes cut from the film. Scenes like this close-up were removed because the financier's feared these scenes would be too frightening for young children.
