On 06/05/2026, a vehicle failed to give way to an ambulance for a considerable stretch despite continuous sirens. A&N Traffic Police imposed a fine of ₹10,000 on the offender. ⚖️ As per Section 194E of the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019, whoever while driving a motor vehicle fails to draw to the side of the road, on the approach of a fire service vehicle or of an ambulance or other emergency vehicle, is punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 6 months, or with a fine of ₹10,000 or with both. 👉 Give way. 🚨 Safeguarding a Critical Life Through Swift Action 🚨 On 8th May, A&N Traffic Police promptly ensured an obstruction-free passage to facilitate the swift movement of an ambulance carrying a critical patient from Ritika Hospital, Garacharma, to the Airport for air evacuation by Special Air Ambulance. Covering a distance of 6.3 km in just 6 minutes, seamless movement was ensured through effective coordination and traffic regulation. The timely intervention saved precious minutes and ensured the patient’s safety. 🚑

🚨 DRUNK DRIVING CRACKDOWN 🚨 From January to April 2026, A&N Traffic Police booked 346 vehicles for Drunk Driving during special enforcement drives across Sri Vijaya Puram. 🚔 The involved vehicles were seized and the Driving Licences of offenders will be suspended for 3 months. Punishment for Drunk Driving is ₹10,000 fine or imprisonment up to 6 months or with both. ⚠️ Don’t Drink & Drive. One wrong decision can destroy many lives.

Performing stunts and speeding/racing for reels and social media is not just risky—it is unlawful. Such acts attract: * Sec. 189 MV (A) Act, 2019 – Racing / trials of speed (punishable with imprisonment up to 3 months, fine ₹5,000, or with both) * Sec. 184(f) MV (A) Act, 2019 – Driving in a dangerous manner (punishable with imprisonment from 6 months to 1 year, fine from ₹1,000 to ₹5,000, or with both, along with suspension of DL for 3 months) 🚦 A&N Traffic Police will take strict action against such violations.
