As millions tune in to the Super Bowl, claims often resurface that it’s the largest human trafficking event in the world. There’s no definitive data to support that. Trafficking isn’t confined to one weekend—it’s an ongoing crime. Accuracy, enforcement, and accountability matter.

Today is National Prosecutors Day, and we recognize the prosecutors who serve with integrity and a deep commitment to justice. At HTI, we work alongside prosecutors in the U.S. and internationally to strengthen cases against traffickers and support accountability.

Prevention happens when systems are equipped to respond. We’re proud to support our law enforcement and prosecutorial partners across the Commonwealth during Human Trafficking Awareness Month.

More than 1,100 professionals have participated in these trainings since 2023–strengthening coordination, improving investigations, and building the skills needed to hold traffickers accountable.

This month, HTI joined the Virginia State Police, the Department of Criminal Justice Services, and the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Services Conference to train prosecutors and investigators from across the state on best practices for investigating and prosecuting trafficking cases.

Justice is not passive. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. showed that defending human dignity requires action. Honoring his legacy means confronting injustices like human trafficking. At HTI, we remain committed to protecting the vulnerable and holding traffickers accountable. #MLKDay
