On April 24/25 1951, cut-off and surrounded during the Battle of Kapyong, 700 troops of 2 PPCLI defended Hill 677 against determined, repeated attacks by a much larger Chinese force. This action was a pivotal point in the Korean War. 10 Patricia's were killed, and 23 wounded.
