Descanse em paz, o grande Silvino Louro. Silvino excelled as a goalkeeper, captaining Portugal, playing two European Cup finals for Benfica, and winning 11 trophies across over two decades in Portuguese club football. Silvino excelled as a goalkeeping coach, winning two Champions Leagues amongst a total of 25 titles. At Porto, Chelsea, Inter, Real Madrid and Manchester United, he was a key part of Jose Mourinho’s great coaching staff. We’ve lost one of the game’s truly good guys.

Compelling game of football of a level far higher than most of what we watch in this set piece-and-physicality obsessed Premier League. Both teams tactically excellent. PSG - as you’d expect from European champions - better in attack; the scoreline exaggerated by Chelsea’s goalkeeper. #PSGCHE open.spotify.com/episode/4iRWyS…

Chelsea unfortunate not to go ahead, but the precision of PSG’s counterattack and the quality of Ousmane Dembele’s finishing is European champion-class. #PSGCHE youtu.be/aKoxn23Rs3s

Rui Faria: ‘In training, coaches must deliberately expose players to the specific positional tensions and functional demands of the role. Not just generic full-back exercises. ‘For example, training should expose the player to body orientation scenarios and inside connections, as well as timed underlaps from the inside channel. Repeated 1v1 situations should be used to improve the ability to defend the line with a weaker foot orientation. ‘All training exercises should create natural dynamics arising from the relationship between the winger, midfielder, and full-back.’ uefa.com/uefaeuropaleag…

Ian Wright: ‘His arm has come up. I’m baffled at what they’re looking for. ‘Decs is actually holding him. His arm’s up there and now it moves up. When I saw that I thought they’re going to give a pen. ‘But then you don’t know what they’re going to do up there. You look at the pen that Man United got today, I’m thinking that’s definitely a penalty [against Arsenal].’ @transferspodcast?sub_confirmation=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">youtube.com/@transferspodc

Take your pick of the penalties to award against Declan Rice. Both arms wrapped tightly around Jorrel Hato at the corner kick. Then moves left arm to the ball to try and deflect it away. Neither given. Fortunately Chelsea equalise from the next corner. #ARSCHE @transferspodcast?sub_confirmation=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">youtube.com/@transferspodc
