these protections are critical to ensuring that the tragedy that occurred in East Palestine, Ohio, doesn’t happen again. that community is still feeling the effects of the derailment today.

imagine if we only plowed the car lanes in one direction

we were excited to see that the summit and fourth street lanes were cleared as well! it seems that the east bound lane on Broad was cleared, but not the west bound lane for some reason.

also, reminder that it’s free to ride COTA today because of the level 2 snow emergency. don’t stress about the roads (and remember to thank your bus driver 🙂)

January service changes start today for @COTABus including: - CMAX going to 15 minute frequencies on Saturday and Sunday (was every 20 and 30 minutes) - several downtown lines operating in both directions on two-way Front St - new Sunday and Late-night lineup locations

The CAB meets quarterly, but if you have any questions about COTA’s policies/services (especially if you haven’t been able to get an answer from COTA directly), let us know and we can still get answers between meetings.

Not new info, but: COTA’s student pass program is $13 per student per semester for CCS, which the schools pay for. In the summer, there’s a student pass that any student from any school (even non traditional) can purchase and use. It’s $62 and Works from May 15-September 15.

Thread of things we learned from COTA’s Community Advisory Board meeting: COTA has changed its weather policy: during Level 2 snow emergencies, fares will be free. During extremely hot weather (exact temp at which that takes effect TBD) they will be doing free fares as well
