Did I sign up too late to catch the twitter buzz?

I should tell you a bit about myself. I am a transsexual woman working as a sales rep in North America.

My friends said I should sign up and start following people so that is what I am doing.

I am following a lot more people than are following me. I need to figure out how to gain more followers.

I read that I should follow back anyone that follows me so that is what I am going to do.
