What is the difference between the GOG and Steam versions?
I only ever played the GOG and Xbox 360 versions.

Why is it that the billion dollar companies price their CEs at like $300+ and don't have nearly as much cool stuff, but the much smaller companies are able to give us some pretty neat stuff while also pricing theirs much better? I've seen this so many times.

Today in RPG history...
Bullets and Square Enix released SaGa Frontier: Remastered multiplat worldwide on Apr 15, 2021. With a new main, graphics, features, and content, this looks like a slick upgrade to a classic but I admit SaGa Frontier is one of my blind spots! Recommended?

Sometimes people me why games are localized at all, and not translated 100% directly. Staying within the SaGa franchise, the best example I can give is one of our protagonists in SaGa Frontier, Riki. His Japanese name is "Coon." That absolutely does not fly in English. (1/2)

Microsoft locked out OSR?!
Holy FUCKING shit.
I thought VeraCrypt and WireGuard was bad. Dawg, someone at Microsoft is fucking up BAD. This is ridiculous.
The initial excuse was people didn't verify their email, so it was plausible like, "oh two people probably made a small mistake, bureaucracy, dumb stuff, weird coincidence".
But then Windscribe... AND OSR?! What the fuck is going on at Microsoft? There is a galactic level of fuck up happening somewhere

After 30+ years of signing windows drivers, we have been locked out of driver signing like many other companies. In a word, the disrespect and disregard with which MSFT is treating IHVs and ISVs is stunning. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s because we didn’t read our emails or submit the right verification paperwork. Cuz we did all that back in October. And this month, we were suddenly and without any warning locked out. Support said they’d “do their best” to let us know “within 90 days” if we’re good enough to get back on. In the meantime, many thousands of desktops and instruments are not being updated, cuz we can’t sign drivers. Awesome job, Microsoft. Thanks.

Today in RPG history... Square Enix released The Last Remnant for PC in JP on Apr 9, 2009. Maybe you heard this story before: SQEX considered this to be foundational for their future content strategy but a mixed reception meant that all fell apart. Was Remnant really that bad?

Seems to have been more popular in Japan than outside. And it feels like it has a bit of a niche following especially among SaGa-series fans.

@calebhart42 The mini dungeons are interesting on paper but a bit of an annoyance if you aren't prepared for them. Not as cumbersome in the Pixel Remaster where job switching is simpler though.

Final Fantasy 3 is so fucking good, my god. And if you are thinking I'm talking about FF6 (American FF3) yes that game is absolutely god-tier as well, but I'm talking about FF3, the first FF with interchangeable jobs. I highly recommend 10/10
