The internet used to be full of websites; there were millions of them and you could browse for hours and come away smarter rather than dumber. Now there are four sites and they've made half the population illiterate. We've destroyed a wonderful thing, and it has destroyed us.

Biologist Sebastian S. Cocioba thought he was just booking a quiet Airbnb getaway in upstate New York with his partner, but the trip came with an unexpected guide named Cinamen. The orange tabby cat, who lives at the property near the Appalachian Trail, apparently accompanies almost every guest on hikes through the woods. According to Sebastian, Cinamen would walk ahead like a seasoned trail expert, stop whenever they wandered off course, and “complain” until they got back on the right path. He said the cat somehow always knew the way home and even judged them for walking too slowly. Airbnb later responded to the viral post by calling Cinamen “the purrfect trail guide.” The cat quickly became an internet favorite, with many people saying they now wanted to book the Airbnb just to hike with him.
