The weekly Drought Monitor report came out yesterday so we are a little late posting it. Things continue to worsen here and across most of South Texas. Almost all of our county now in Extreme drought. No rain currently on the horizon unfortunately.

Hot temperatures and dry air is expected over the next week with no rain in sight. Near record highs are expected Friday through Sunday. Stay hydrated out there.

After a brief taste of winter, South Central Texas will return to pretending it's summer starting Thursday. No rainfall is expected through early next week.

A cool morning could come with a light freeze for about half the forecast area. South winds return today, but the air will remain dry, leading to near critical fire weather conditions for western counties. Wednesday will be mild, but the rest of the forecast returns to hot & dry.

A cold front will bring strong winds and falling temperatures tonight. North winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 to 55 mph are expected. By early morning, temperatures will fall to the mid 30s across the Hill Country, and to the lower to mid 40s elsewhere.
