@SecVetAffairs @depvetaffairs Do any of those resources exist outside of the VA Healthcare system? Why is the VA so reluctant to refer outside its system to private facilities that clearly provide better care and outcomes?

Letting Freeman walk, Murphy trade, Profar signing( still tbd), not cutting Arcia after the ridiculousness of the Phillies series, and above all else , the reluctance to sign or trade for SP depth

I just can’t get behind this. He spent 60M+ already he had money, he said SP was the main priority then did the opposite. If he miss appropriated that’s on him too. Part of his job is managing the money he does have to spend and if he saw the entire 2025 rotation go down and thought “eh it’ll be fine bc I’ve heard they feel good in the middle of witner” there’s bigger issues here anyway.

@grantmcauley @ChoppinBravos The fear of moving arm prospects for seasoned pitching is laughable. See Folty, Newcomb, Wisler, AJSS and now Waldrup. AA caught lighting in a bottle in 21 w average players that overperformed. He has been woefully average, or below since, with the exception of the Sale deal.

@ChoppinBravos You can't simply not do the other things or fill other needs while waiting on one type of deal that may or may not materialize. Teams don't shop that way.

It's here, entirely my choice. I'm retiring. Appreciated every day of 41 years I've been paid to do what I loved -- writing, covering sports. Without y'all, it wouldn't have been possible. So, thanks from the bottom of my cantankerous heart. Your passion is admirable, beautiful.

@SecVetAffairs @DeptVetAffairs I think it would be a great idea to visit @ShepherdCenter in your home state of GA to learn about the best TBI care in the US and determine why the VA is not referring. It is absolutely ok to look outside the system for care

I’ve visited more than 60 VA clinics since February to talk with Veterans, learn what issues they’re having and what @DeptVetAffairs facilities can do better. This is key to putting Veterans first.

60% of Veterans who die by suicide were not in recent @DeptVetAffairs care, and we must do a better job of reaching those who need help. That’s why we’ve overhauled VA’s suicide prevention office with new leadership and new ideas.

@RealMattlanta Organizational dysfunction. There is no identity. Team wasn’t stocked with talent and swung and missed on an entire draft class. There is no one from the 24 class that is contributing. Couple that with bad drafts in previous years and it is difficult to recover. They are broken
