OTD, the (fairly? unfairly?) maligned Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Move Along Home," A lot of fans hate this one, but others love it. Where do you stand?

@zenpisces @GreysAnatomyHD According to many of his costars, he was an absolute monster.

@GreysAnatomyHD I washed his last interview this morning at 7am , and I can’t even explain the feeling in my heart with him sitting there and watching it fade to black it’s just so unreal. I'm really happy he left that for his daughters & the world!!

It feels like we didn’t just lose an actor - we lost a piece of our own story.💔🩺
Grey’s fans everywhere are hurting, because Eric Dane wasn’t simply someone we watched on screen. He was part of our rituals. Our late-night rewatches. Our comfort episodes on days when life felt overwhelming. He became woven into the fabric of what Grey’s Anatomy meant to us.
When he first walked into Seattle Grace as Dr. Mark Sloan, he brought more than charm and confidence. Yes, there was the smirk. Yes, there was the nickname that made fans swoon. But beneath that was vulnerability - a man capable of deep love, painful mistakes, and quiet redemption. He made us laugh one minute and break down the next. He made flawed feel human.
And somehow, over the years, he stopped being just a character.
He became the reason we quoted lines with our friends.
The reason we rewatched certain episodes “just one more time.”
The reason we felt understood in moments of heartbreak.
For many of us, Grey’s wasn’t just a show - it was a chapter of our lives. We grew up with it. We healed with it. We found comfort in its chaos. And Eric was part of that safe place.
That’s why this hurts so deeply.
Because when someone who shaped your comfort leaves this world, it feels personal. It feels like losing a familiar voice in your living room. Like losing a friend you’ve known for years, even if you never met him.
But here is the quiet truth that brings a small measure of peace: he is still there. In every episode. In every iconic scene. In every glance that carried more emotion than words. When the theme song starts and the hospital doors open, Mark Sloan is still walking those halls - alive in the art he gave us.
We are grieving not only the man, but the memories attached to him. And that kind of grief is proof of impact.
Eric Dane wasn’t just part of a cast.
He was part of our Grey’s family.
Part of our memories.
Part of our comfort.
And even through tears, that connection will never fade. 🤍
