Let’s be careful not to assume this girl is suffering because she rides a bicycle. For many families, that is a normal and honest way to get to school. If anyone wants to help, let it be something sustainable,like improving what she already uses (a better bicycle, safety gear, or school support), not changing her lifestyle for a short time we cannot maintain.Real help should empower, not interrupt what is already working.

How I was wrong with my stupid judgement! In the areas I mentioned above, it’s very normal for girls and women to ride anywhere. What caught my attention on this particular one was a student braving the rain to go to school and I said a silent prayer for her. Now ka boom!!! She is from the ‘privileged’ region of the banana republic. Shame upon us all with tribal leaning judgements (I’m not among them though). The only thing we can do is to pray for Sheila’s protection and heavenly guidance to fulfill the obligation God has placed before her. Long live Blessings. Riding a bike to school in heavy rain isn’t normal🤷🏽‍♂️ it’s a actually symptom of failed systems in the govt. Many of u grew up in humble families in tough conditions and now u want to project that pain onto today’s kids that’s why you see it as normal. If you can’t offer help, just stay quiet. Mind u the girl’s parents are okay with the support.

Im willing and ready to pay for school fees and boarding fees for the young girl plus anything she needs for school until she finishes University! A section of Ugandans on social media this weekend started a push to support a young schoolgirl who was filmed cycling through traffic in heavy rain.  The clip, first shared on TikTok by user TikTok account “Tune Kigezi,” shows the girl riding a black bicycle along a flooded road as rain pours down.  It is believed to have been taken near Kabale Central Market in Kabale Municipality in south-western Uganda.

From what everyone is saying I guess everyone here studied in town and was driven to school maybe. But this is a normal practice in places like Kabale, there are also very many others without bicycles and they always walk back home in the heavy rains.
