The quantum threat used to be one lab, one machine, one breakthrough. The Q1 2026 earnings season says otherwise. Six publicly traded quantum computing companies have now reported Q1 2026 earnings. IonQ: $64.7 million. Infleqtion: $9.5 million. Quantinuum: $5.2 million from its S-1 filing. QUBT: $3.7 million. D-Wave: $2.9 million revenue with $33.4 million in bookings. Xanadu: $2.83 million. Combined revenue: approximately $89 million. Combined cash and securities: over $3.5 billion. Four distinct hardware modalities are represented across the six companies: trapped-ion (IonQ, Quantinuum), neutral atom (Infleqtion), photonic (QUBT, Xanadu), and annealing plus gate-model (D-Wave). Two years ago, the entire industry's public quarterly revenue was under $8 million. IonQ was the only company with meaningful disclosure. The roughly 11x growth comes from independent hardware approaches scaling in parallel, not from one platform pulling ahead. The threat model that asks "when does Lab X build Machine Y" is reading the wrong dial. The dial that matters reads: an $89M per quarter industry with $3.5B in cash and four independent hardware approaches keeps scaling. Industries with revenue, capital, and competitive pressure do not stop at "almost useful."

Six qubits at launch, with a stated roadmap to millions of physical qubits by 2030. Power draw: 1600W from a standard single-phase socket. Integrated closed-cycle cryocooler maintaining 0.3 Kelvin without external infrastructure. The system runs on UnityQ, a CMOS-fabricated quantum system-on-chip that integrates the quantum processing unit with ARM CPUs (the first to operate at 1 Kelvin), AI accelerators, and NPUs on a single die. Classical control logic sits next to the quantum processor at cryogenic temperatures, removing the signal latency that comes from routing between room temperature and a dilution refrigerator. Dell collaborated on a hybrid prototype: RacQ alongside a PowerEdge R770 server, orchestrated by Dell's Quantum Intelligent Orchestrator software. Six qubits is small. The form factor is the story. When quantum hardware deploys like a server, the installed base scales at the pace of data center procurement, not lab construction.
